A beautifully restored sophisticated property catering for those who need a rest, with genuine friendliness and care. Alexandro and the Sommelier were particularly kind, as were all reception staff, thank you. The hotel is not immediately near a village but excellently placed in the centre of many beautiful places at a short distance if you have a car. There is quite music around the pool, but they turned it off when asked as we were often the only ones there in June, but not house music, thank goodness. Rooms were large and comfortable, cleaning services were regular and excellent, beds were good and not as very hard as some in Italy, toppers were added on request. It really is a lovely hotel for those who appreciate authentic, sophisticated, quiet relaxation.

The other gentleman serving at the pool needs more training. The pool bar needs a call button as it was usually not staffed, although we were there in low season, a means of requesting service is needed. The Spa staff need more training for a more professional service after the treatment - in terms of showing what facilities are available. However all the good things outshone these small tweaks for improvement. Highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful property gives sense of space in which to relax.

Menu a bit limited

This was our second visit to the property. We decided to go back as we had such a wonderful experience the first time around, however the second visit was not as remarkable. The room was spacious and clean. I loved the size of the tub although this would have been nicer had the hot water been working properly. The property itself is stunning, the outdoor pool, the spa and other facilities.

On this visit the food was not at all what we experienced on the first visit. Menu was lacking and dishes where either dull and flavourless or overbearingly salty. Even the simplest of dishes where not made with any kind of enthusiasm. The breakfast was defiantly the culinary highlight with fresh pastries and a nice selection of cold cuts and cheeses. The fruit on the other hand was left uncovered and therefore being devoured by flies. The pool bar/restaurant was closed for the season which would have been nice to know before hand. And as we where there they continued to remove all the sun lounger but the two we where on which made us feel very unwelcome and in the way. Although the service was good it was only ever reactive rather that proactive which at the is expected at a 5* property especially given the fact that we where alone at almost every meal.
