The hotel is right in the middle of Barnstaple, and is the nicest place in the whole town! The bar was lovely and the cocktails very good. Everyone working there was friendly and especially the bar man, Ian. A really lovely hotel!
There wasn't much else in Barnstaple! We were there for an event, and I think we saw most of it in a weekend! The hotel was definitely the highlight!

The hotel is central to everything so no need to travel by car for most needs, the staff were polite and very helpful. They allow dogs for a minimal charge and the room service was amazing. The hotel is very nice and kept in good condition and the rooms are very spacious.
Sadly my biggest complaint was the fact you could hear everyone walking past as the floors are very creeky and with it being an old building it doesn't keep sound out well. This was hard when I believe the manager at night was dealing with the lift being broken and walking the entire time.

Several of us stayed for two nights for a wedding. We were thoroughly impressed with everything. The staff were very accommodating to our many requests and changes! Dinner and breakfasts were excellent. Cannot fault it.

Lift wasn’t working and we were on the third floor in an airless shoe box despite the fan.
All of The Above and Barnstaple looks like it’s on its last legs, a barren high st, grubby and Graffitied.
