We had a wonderful stay at the Reef Retreat. The bath in the room was fantastic, very large and came with jets. Pool was heated and jacuzzi was great size to relax in. TV also was good side and bed was comfortable. Reception staff were also very friendly and offered suggestions on how to explore the area. Would definitely stay again.
Although there was a washing machine and dryer, we found that the dryer didn’t dry our clothes properly. Nearly everything was still damp. We have had the same experience with a similar dryer in Cairns.
Highly suggest a notice is added above the dryer warning guests that large loads will likely need to be put through the dryer twice. Suspect there are others who have had a similar experience. A bit inconvenient!
Other than that, no complaints.

Lovely staff and great location. Kitchen was immaculate and very well organised, although limited in utensils and glasses.
The smell of chlorine from cleaning was overpowering for the first 2 days and the rooms are not well ventilated, making clearing the smell even more difficult. There is no real place to eat in the room except perched at the kitchen bench. The pool remained uncleaned for the 4 days we were there - but the weather didn't make it very enticing anyway. Really - we were instructed to (& did) empty our own rubbish to the bins in the back alley? It is all a little rundown but well-intentioned.

The apartment was recently renovated. It was a great size and so close to the beach. We will definitely be back.

* The location is very pleasant, close to Palm Cove Beach.
* The swimming pool and jacuzzi are very nice and enjoyable.
* The hotel is somewhat run-down and could benefit from some maintenance and refurbishment.
* When we arrived, the floor of our room was very dirty and covered in sand. I noticed it immediately because I like walking around barefoot, and my feet were instantly covered in dirt and sand.
* The rooms do not have a proper indoor dining area, which, during winter when it is windy, makes having meals there rather unpleasant.
* During our five-night stay, the towels were only replaced once.
* The laundry facility is paid and does not provide detergent, so we had to buy a whole packet to use just once.
