I usually go for a balcony room but the saving in cost for a "vaulted ceiling" room on a lower floor was useful this time, still very pleasant and with a decent & interesting view from the ordinary window. Tried the 24-hour entrance gate for the first time and it worked just fine. Interesting & atmospheric walk to get to it as well! Staff very helpful with carrying bags up the one section of stairs for which no lift is available.
At my age the bathtubs are difficult to get into and out of, with no handrails, and a fixed glass splatter shield preventing even the use of the walls etc as support. It's a shame they don't have rooms with showers, or if they do, more information about this when booking.

The location was amazing, looking over the old city if Gubbio and listening to the church bells was pretty magical. My bathroom window had one of the most beautiful views of the courtyard. 🤣
The rooms are outdated, with funky furniture. It wasn't off putting but notable.
