The front desk staff were very good. Marcela in particular was fantastic! She put her heart into helping us feel welcome, found the brochures, maps and timetables that we were hoping to find, and was always a pleasure to speak with. We don't know the culture around raises in Italy, but in the US we would be pushing for her to receive one!
The hotel itself was perfect for what we needed. We did 8 and 11 hour long hikes over our stay. We could get to the morning buses easily. The supermarket is next door and we cooked 5 out of our 6 nights there...even hosted a dinner party for a couple we met on the ridge. The kitchenette was great to have.
Having the spa helped us recover from the long hikes. We wish it was open later than 20:00, but having the steam room and Whirlpool was great on the muscles.
Our unit had two different balconies and we enjoyed having food and wine with the mountain views.
We enjoyed our stay very much. Very Spoko!
These are relatively minor things and some of them are more cultural.
We wish there had been some basics of cooking like salt, pepper, oil and dish soap provided. We bought these (although Marcela brought up salt and pepper for us on the first night from the restaurant downstairs), but some had to be thrown out at the end.
We didn't think the garbage needed to be emptied every day...even if the trash only had one item in it, it was removed as part of the daily cleaning routine. We did decline the cleaning on our rest day.
Again, these are minor, as our overall stay was fantastic.
