Hotel La Tonkine ex Olympia

Fantastic little hotel in a brilliant area of Monaco. Despite being only ten minutes from the Casino and Cafe de Paris, the hotel is very reasonably priced. It's also just ten minutes from the train station, making it very convenient, plus there is a Carrefour supermarket and a wonderful bakery and fresh food market on the next road over, so it really was perfect. The hotel has clearly had a refresh, and while there are still the odd elements that look a bit tired (bathroom door kept sliding open, external doors had some sealant issues) it's very clean and well-presented. The staff were all fantastic, allowing us to check in early when our room was available, and also locking our bags in their storage area when we checked out. Really rate this hotel and would absolutely stay again.

loved the staff and the cosiness and cleanliness of the hotel

I am not keen on carpets that are past their best condition. Whilst the room and facilities were great, the carpet wasn't for me.

Location was central to the main areas

They had turned off the air conditioning the week before and the day that we stayed was hot, we couldn’t sleep with windows open because of security and the noise of the cars on the street. I had booked the accommodation because it had air conditioning in the description and no where was it communicated that they turn off their system for winter.
