Hotel Jogar

I can recommend this hotel. After being sent on a last-minute vacation by my company, I spent hours researching and selected the Hotel Jogar from among more than 1,900 accommodation options at Lake Balaton (Hungary) on Booking.com. It’s located in the “second row,” about 500 meters from the beach on the southern shore of the vast Lake Balaton in Balatonföldvár. The town’s restaurant and shopping district is about the same distance away. Closer by is the single-track train station, which offers good connections to Budapest and the other towns on the southern shore. And it is quite close to the Tihany peninsula and the ferry. My clean attic accommodations consisted of a bedroom (4 x 3 m), a bathroom (2 x 1 m), and a hallway (2 x 1.7 m). I only used the air conditioning briefly, and it worked well. There were no mosquitoes in my room. Included was a sufficiently hearty breakfast featuring Hungarian foods (served from 7 to 10 a.m.) on the ground floor of the hotel. The 24-hour front desk was also very convenient. The value for the money was fine and appropriate to my income. In fact, at Lake Balaton, you can spend more than 6,400 euros per person per night for a seaside apartment.

It was a bit unusual to receive the remote controls for the TV and the air conditioner, as well as the key, in a small plastic basket in exchange for a deposit. But perhaps this procedure is appropriate for guests at Lake Balaton.

A hotel személyzete nagyon kedves és segítőkész volt. A szállás kifejezetten csendes helyen található, az ágyak kényelmesek voltak, és a szobákban van légkondi is, ami a nagy melegben jól tud jönni.

A szállást elsősorban a wellness részlege miatt foglaltuk (és vállaltuk az ezzel járó többletköltséget más szállásokhoz képest), azonban azt nem indították be csak kettőnk kedvéért. A szoba jóval kisebb volt a vártnál, ami két felnőtt esetében kényelmetlenséget jelenthet. A svédasztalos reggelinél egy-két finomság hamar elfogyott és azt nem tudták újratölteni, mert nem készültek kellő mennyiséggel (elmondásuk szerint nem számítottak ennyi gyermekre).
