About this bed and breakfast
Originally a wealthy sea captain’s mansion built in 1810, the Hotel Miranda is a fine example of characteristic local architecture. It is located 820 feet from the port and 1640 feet from Ydra’s main beach.

Hotel Miranda is a beautiful family-run hotel, and Miranda and her daughters made us feel very welcome. The location was perfect for exploring Hydra, with easy access to the waterfront and the town’s sights.
We stayed in rooms 4–5, a connected two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite. We had our own private terrace, which was especially delightful in the evening, and the hallway windows gave us a wonderful view over the town. We truly had a room with a view.
Each room is unique, filled with antique furniture, artwork, and interesting curiosities that give the hotel a lot of character. Breakfast was very good and served in a beautiful courtyard.
There is also a small art gallery on the lower level, and by wonderful coincidence we were there during a celebration of the gallery’s 50th anniversary, which made the stay even more memorable.
The bathroom was a little tight, and the handheld shower setup was awkward and tended to get water on the floor. In rooms 4–5, you also need to walk through one bedroom to enter or leave the suite, which is worth knowing in advance.
