You need a car to stay here!
Staff were so lovely and helpful. The pool was beautiful. Morning yoga was great
I really wouldn't recommend going here if you don't have a car. Cost me $35 each time to get to Fortuna and really difficult to get a cab at that. Also, most shuttles won't pick you up from the hotel as it's too far away. The bunk house rooms were overpriced, they are tiny. It could have been the weather but the place was damp and really hard to dry clothes, I left feeling a bit ill.

Superb
The philosophy of the ranch is self-sufficiency and it can be seen in each of their activities. To witness this reality was unique and inspiring.
It's a farm and not a hotel, tho the prices for the stay feels like a four star hotel and a bit overpriced. With high prices comes high expectations, which inherently a farm cannot deliver.

Truly exceptional ecolodge!
Rancho Margot is more than a hotel, it's a community and an sustainable project. For us it was truly an inspiring experience as we could witness first-hand the challenges and rewards that living off-the-grid entail. Rancho Margot's team has accomplished plenty like regenerating a portion of the forest and they invite you to learn about their sustainability practices through their tours and experiences. You can also just enjoy nature, take a hike or swim on their natural pools. It's secluded for a good reason, and we didn't have any reason to leave. We stayed 3 nights but would love to come back!

Fantastic staff, location and a unique experience.
Property was truly unique. You live right on the farm.
We loved everything. If one thing could improve, the pool area could be brighter or more inviting.

Very overpriced, would not recommend
The bungalow was pretty in a scenic setting. Friendly receptionist.
Was very overpriced. I booked 4 nights not realising how remote it was or that there would be no phone signal. I wanted to leave one night earlier but they wouldn’t refund me which was $175 for one night to stay in quite a standard room. Was upsetting as a lone traveller that booked last minute that there was no room to amend just one day. If you are travelling alone I do not recommend as it is also very expensive to get there and then you are stuck.
