Amazing place! Tent by the river, wonderful views, beautiful nature and peaceful sleep. Amazing food, first we thought we were just lucky to both enjoy Dinner, buffet breakfast was just a good. The staff is probably the reason we might go back!

Staff are extremely friendly and caring. The dinner and breakfast selection was very good and well presented.
The accomodation could do with better cleaning. Our unit was very nice but one could see that a proper clean was not done before we arrived.

We loved the Waterbuck chalet, it was perched right over the dam amongst the reeds where the weavers were nesting. The game drive was wonderful as our guide Keana was super knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
Our chalet needs some maintenance as the woodwork on the outside is weather damaged. The putt putt course is looking sad and is non operational.

On arrival at the reception we were pleasantly surprised that our booking included dinner each evening as well as a game drive each day, which we weren't expecting. The breakfast and evening meal were excellent both in quantity, quality and variety. The views from the restaurant and patio area were fabulous. Every one of the entire staff were very friendly and informative and the game drive, although it didn't have any of the 'big 5' was great as there was an abundance of animals to be seen. The lodge we stayed in for the four days was part built over a dam and what can only be described as 'rustic charm, with it's own private barbeque area on an attached small island. There was plenty of rooms and showers/toilets etc to cater for a family of four. One air conditioning unit was provided to cater for all of the bedroom areas, each of the beds was also provided with a mosquito net, which was very useful. The lodge was well away from other lodges so was very private, the only visitors were wild animals during the day and an abundance of native birds.
On opening the front door of the lodge we were immediately hit by the strong smell of 'creosote' or other wood treatment, which took a while to get used to. Unfortunately the strong fumes of the treatment stayed there for the entire visit. When we moved on from this location to another part of South Africa, on opening our suitcases, we were immediately aware that our clothing had become tainted by the wood treatment smell! The entire lodge is constructed of very dark wood, which meant even with the available lights on, during the day or night, the kitchen and bar area were very dark. So much so that a separate torch had to be used on most occasions especially if anything was dropped on the floor. The safe that was in one of the rooms did not operate at all. On checking out the internal battery compartment, the batteries were found to be corroded. This was reported to the reception, but unfortunately nothing was done about it!
