The Alberg is in a good position withing the Mount Hotham resort. The facilities are many with steam room, spa and pool as well as basic dining and drinking available.
There is an issue in getting all one's gear and supplies for a week up all the stairs, it's a killer!
The beds are a bit lumpy and could easily be remedied with a decent mattress cover.

Staff were genuinely lovely and helpful. convenient to have a pool and restaurant onsite. Location is accessible though not the most central, there is a bus stop out the front. The building lifts are fast. Room was clean and functional, though old.
Everything is pretty old, for the price per night, it's really not great value, despite being one of the cheapest options on the mountain. The dining table and bench felt wobbly and about to fall apart, the kitchen utensils were barely adequate, a dishwasher was provided but without detergent. The food at the restaurant was quite variable in quality.
