Wonderfully warm and welcoming host, Ted san. Really fascinating character given his Western background but having lived in Japan for the majority of his life. We loved taking the kayaks out and exploring the lake and mini island. This was the main appeal of the resort. Room was both clean and spacious and had a beautiful view of the lake. Absolutely solid breakfast spread including multiple cereal options (which we Brits love!).

The homie atmosphere lake house and the biwa island view, also they have many activities in this hotel.

Of course the view of the lake that stretches out of my bedroom window! I also love the little seating area right next to the window, and the fact that all the rooms had ensuite facilities, which is uncommon for a Japanese-inn type building.

The bath was a little too narrow, and I'm only a little guy! Also, I was fortunate in deciding to rent a car as most of the eating establishments close out of the peak seasons.

Second time that we were visiting. The host , Ted has become one of our closest friends in Japan [you need to give us more discounts , Ted! ;) ]. The serene surrounding really takes you away from the daily hustle and bustle in city life. Resort rooms are spacious, not tiny as compared to business locations so you can really relax. Kayaking, boating, SUP options are available on site, and you will be guided and supported with any queries you may have. Ideal option for work (away) from home. You may be in luck and meet awesome fellow travellers and share a beer or two over BBQ, as we have always been.

The owner and staff were friendly and attentive to our needs. They were professional and available to answer any questions we had about the property, sup, kayak and other water fun they offer, as well as restaurants and local sites. Traveling with an infant snd elementary school child we were able to engage with other guests from all over Japan and quickly make acquaintance with other families. We plan to stay again in the near future and highly recommend the resort to others.

All rooms have lakeside view. Deck and Breakfast dining room set up to easily facilitate meeting other guests. Close proximity to restaurants and convenience store, drivable to local sites. Friendly competent staff and owner very personable !

The location is perfect, right in front of the lake, it is beautiful! The room is big and spacious. The breakfast was great and fulfilling. The owner is very friendly and great to chat with.

I feel that it is a bit overpriced for the services especially concerning the room which was empty except for the futons. It would be great to have a kettle, some furniture and other things that you can usually find in rooms. I was also worried that some of the staff did not wear a mask although corona is still around.
