Friendly staff Accommodating restaurant and pool staff Good hotel facilities Half board was generally a good value

Power interruptions from time to time, though not lengthy Cleaning could be better Some of the menu items constantly not available Pricey airport transfer (2x-3x of outside vendors cost) As in many other places some sun beds were constantly taken with someone’s towels, but nobody around for hours.

Exceptional

Anantara is a stunning resort that you do not have to leave as everything is available to you during your stay. The restaurants are fine dining, and the kids club women were amazing with our child while we got a massage - she loved them!

Anantara is amazing and the only thing I would list as a "con" is that everything is very expensive - you get what you pay for though and that is the best quality food and stay

Exceptional

Despite we visited Anantara Resort in low season everything was perfect. The service was particularity nice, it was very attentive and accurate. We felt very spoiled. Food, considering we are in Srilanka, was delicious. Best breakfast of the country. The territory and the garden are simply stunning, everything is amazingly maintained, the ocean views are for the truly romantics. Gym it’s updated and very spacious. SPA is a 11/10.

Exceptional

The most luxurious hotel in Sri Lanka. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the amenities were top-notch. The hotel had an amazing beach view! Also We want to thank the front office staff of Anantara hotel especially Mr. Thisal, his attention to detail and willingness to assist with any request we had was truly impressive.

Superb

.beautiful luxery resort. very clean, comfortable and large rooms, amazing pool, wonderful service. breakfast was great- variaty of both local and western food. the chef prepared for our children specially gluten free pancakes and hoppers and was extremly helpful. the beach nearby was rough but even so - beautiful and we enjoyed splitting our time between pool and beach. the hotel has nice (included) activities such as botanic tour, yoga lessons. we enjoyed them as well.

prices in pool bar were extremly high (even though we expect them to be high). and they don't include tax and servics (which make the prices unreasonable). they even charged for water which is ,complementary two steps away at the pool itself. it leaded us not to eat at the hotel at all so both the hotel and customers lose from this.

Best property to stay and relax

Everything. Spacious rooms. Scrumptious Food. Perfect ocean view property. Check in process was smooth. We stayed for 5 nights in Deluxe ocean view room (half board). The spread was too good with everyday different themes. Indian, Sri lankan, seafood, BBQ. In room dining services always made our morning. They served soy and almond milk coffee (heaven for lactose intolerant). Also many Gluten free options available. Room had all the amenities and Mr. Priyantha took good care of us with his best in room dining services. Kids club is the highlight when you are visiting with a 5 year old. Loads of activities available at the resort. We must mention one thing as we are real scared of geckos and lizards but there were hardly any considering the tropical nature. One can see peacocks, rabbits, Monitor Lizards walking free (no harm). A special mention of the staff who took great care of us. Umesh at the front desk, Jeewa serving best coffee and evening snacks at lobby lounge, Wiraj at the poolside bar serving best cocktail and catch of the day (fish) and Mr. Priyantha. Will surely visit again

Simply the best hotel i’ve ever stayed In. Everything was perfect from the hospitality of the staff that you can’t find it anywhere else in the world.. the facilities were amazing It’s a lifetime experience to stay in this hotel !

Superb

To Mr. Tharanga who was one of our butler very professional and smiling at any time and at any day. He accommodated every request quickly and with flexibility. Our villa was excellent beyond the expectations all the rest of the staff were very kind and professional.

Chairs in restaurants were not that confortable.

Perfect Family Destination

The people, hospitality, location and resort facilities are among best that we have experienced. The option of kids club with nannies and indulging kids into various activities gave us good few hours of our own time during our stay.

The transfer costs for airport are too much on steeper side.

The most luxurious hotel in Sri Lanka

The most luxurious hotel in Sri Lanka. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the amenities were top-notch. The hotel had an amazing beach view! We spent hours sitting on the balcony, taking in the beautiful scenery and relaxing to the sound of the waves. It was truly a breathtaking experience and made our trip to Sri Lanka even more memorable. We want to thank the front office staff of Anantara hotel especially Mr. Thisal karunarathne, his attention to detail and willingness to assist with any request we had was truly impressive. We really enjoyed our stay there and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sri Lanka.

Perfect in every way, and thoroughly relaxing

We got off to a bad start when we were allocated a ‘Premier Ocean View’ without an ocean view, but this was rectified quickly and efficiently, and everything about this holiday was perfect. All the restaurants were high quality, the pools were clean with the water temperature just right, and the rooms well designed and maintained. We also loved the diversity of wildlife that wandered around the grounds. The best thing, however, was the staff. They couldn’t do enough for you, and were all warm and genuine in their interactions with us. Special mention for Edema, Kaush, Suresh (our breakfast waiter who was just amazing), and Vinod, one of the best yoga instructors we have ever had.

Overall a fabulous hotel, which is well worth the drive from Colombo.

The hotel is set in lovely grounds, with plenty of wildlife around. The rooms are very good and the service is as you would expect from an Anantara Hotel. The Italian restaurant in particular has a wonderful setting and overall the hotel is just lovely

Everything really was very good, though I felt the prices for food and services were more in line with Dubai prices rather than Sri Lankan ones.

Beautiful hotel with exceptional service

Of the 4 hotels I stayed in Sri Lanka, this was the best. This is what I loved about it: 1) the welcome and farewell with music were such special experiences 2) overall the service was excellent 3) I had the most amazing foot massage by Ms Irosha, I highly recommend her 4) the garden was so beautiful with many birds and orchids in the trees 5) The room was spacious and clean 6) the breakfast restaurant has the most amazing view with a wide selection of food 7) The driver Mr Thilina who drove me to Colombo was fascinating to speak to. He also speaks Arabic and Korean, and is a trained Korean chef. 8) I loved that the room had a coffee capsule machine

Excellent attention to detail

The attention to all details with guests, check in and check out, having a room host, the excelent integration with nature and the efficency of all staff. They take care of us in all situations.

Maybe to isolated from everything, but thats the spirit of the hotel.

Relaxing holiday

Superb location and the facilities were good. Breakfast was constantly great.

Swimming pool doesn't have a chiller so in hot weather the pool was like a hot bath. Might sound weird but during meal times it was quite overwhelming the amount of times the staff approached us, it was hard to have a conversation without being interrupted every 5 minutes. Meals prices are on the high side considering the location.
