The location and amenity of this boutique hotel were excellent. It was our first visit to Cape Town so we weren't sure what to expect, but we felt quite safe and received some good tips from our hosts. We were able to walk into Bree Street and the V&A Wharf, which was terrific, and our host gave us some useful safety hints. The hotel itself was charming and full of character.
We arrived to find a huge hole in the ground opposite the hotel, with building works being undertaken, which we were not advised about. Luckily we were there over the weekend and were so busy on activities that the works did not inconvenience us too much but it was disappointing, nonetheless.

- Good breakfast
- Room cleaning every day
- The balcony door and windows in the room were extremely old and poorly insulated. Cold air and wind constantly came inside, and the balcony door was literally shaking because of the wind. The bathroom was even worse, as outside air was directly coming in, making it impossible to keep warm. Note: We stayed at room-6.
- The room photos on the booking platforms do not reflect reality. The room we selected looked spacious and included an extra sofa area in the photos, but we were given a very small room instead. The second alternative room they showed us was equally cramped. Do not trust the pictures here.
- Most of the hotel staff were neither helpful nor friendly (except for one gentleman working in the evenings). When we arrived, the female staff member did not even offer to help carry our luggage upstairs through the stairs. Strangely, after we finished carrying almost everything ourselves, she only carried a tiny bag. Overall, the staff seemed unhappy and impolite.
- The hotel parking area is extremely narrow. You may experience difficulties while entering or leaving. If you plan to leave early in the morning, make sure to organize this in advance.
- In short, with so many good hotel options available in Cape Town, I would not recommend staying here.
