This property is right on a beautiful and well located street in Cardiff called Cathedral Road. It’s basically a home stay vibe where you get your own apartment, the host will be there to meet you when you check in and he gave me two chocolates upon check in as well. The room also comes with several Biscoff cookies. The shower works great with nice warm water and the room is spacious with an A/C unit and a heater depending upon your preference. The room also has access to a shared kitchen both upstairs from you and downstairs. In that shared kitchen there was also a standing fan you could take to your room if needed. Property is quiet. The host had an adapter for me so European devices could fit in the British plugs. Shampoo was provided, body wash was not. The curtains work well in the room to keep out light when sleeping. An A/C unit in your room in Wales is also quite a luxury.
The bed is very low to the ground and uncomfortable. The pillows are way too soft, the towels all have holes in them. WiFi in the room is non existent. The host gave me a code but it does not work well (barely a couple seconds before it disconnects forever). Not well enough to browse the internet, watch videos, or make phone calls and certainly not enough to stream. I had to spend £20 extra just to get working WiFi for the room from EE. There was garbage under the bed and in the drawers and the bed also had a broken wooden beam that sticks out.

The location is convenient. It is close to a bus stop, small grocery store, cafes, and restaurants. It is also possible to walk to the core of the city in about 20 minutes. The host is very friendly, helpful, accommodating, and attentive. The room is very spacious. The towel warmer was a nice touch. Great value for the money.
The accommodation is definitely not "luxury". The shared kitchen was missing a proper selection of functional cutlery. It also needs de-cluttering and repair. One can get startled when the garburator on the toilet starts to run.

I'm not sure I would stretch to 'luxury', but this room ticks (almost) all the boxes: Large, clean, really comfortable bed, large bathroom and good shower, tea/coffee. There's a separate communal kitchen with cooking facilities (including microwave) plus iron. Good location (confusingly, look for the big Weight Care Centre sign outside) very close to the park and not too far out of the city centre. Host Essam could not have been more helpful and welcoming. Supermarket and a couple of restaurants are on the doorstep, more nearby.
Parking is on the busy main road or surrounding side streets, which are mainly residents' parking - I had to park a five-minute walk away after a 10-minute hunt, but it was Friday evening. The wifi didn't work well for me, but maybe a glitch. Apart from that, a value-for-money, relaxed, convenient place to stay in Cardiff, especially if you want to self-cater.
