I'm not sure I would stretch to 'luxury', but this room ticks (almost) all the boxes: Large, clean, really comfortable bed, large bathroom and good shower, tea/coffee. There's a separate communal kitchen with cooking facilities (including microwave) plus iron. Good location (confusingly, look for the big Weight Care Centre sign outside) very close to the park and not too far out of the city centre. Host Essam could not have been more helpful and welcoming. Supermarket and a couple of restaurants are on the doorstep, more nearby.
Parking is on the busy main road or surrounding side streets, which are mainly residents' parking - I had to park a five-minute walk away after a 10-minute hunt, but it was Friday evening. The wifi didn't work well for me, but maybe a glitch. Apart from that, a value-for-money, relaxed, convenient place to stay in Cardiff, especially if you want to self-cater.

The property is located in a nice area of Cardiff right near Bute Park, perfect for a morning walk or run. The host was communicative and greeted me on arrival. The bed was comfortable, and the tea/coffee/kettle/biscuits/chocolate provided in the room were appreciated. Free parking on the street right outside. I attended a football match at Cardiff City Stadium, and this was only a 25 minute walk from the property which was fantastic as I avoided the traffic queues trying to park near the pitch.
The bathroom is very small/narrow; it was manageable but could be difficult for a larger person to access the shower. The inside of the property is a little run down in areas, but I did not have any concerns regarding cleanliness.

Host is very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Use of full kitchen.
Large room with sofa as well as desk and bed. Water, tea, coffee and chocolate provided.
Great location right by the park.
Bit tatty round the edges.
Cleaning in the more hidden areas.
Common areas felt very studenty.

The location was good and Essam was lovely. I liked the shower set up but less pressure than I'm used to.
The tea and coffee facility was lacking as plenty of tea and sugar but barely any milk or coffee. The bed was too hard and had a person sized indentation so didn't sleep well. There is paint coming away from the walls in several places and the towel provided was way too small for a grown man of over 6ft.
