+ The design of the hotel was absolutely stunning, like a hidden paradise in the middle of the jungle. + There was not one but two pools, and both were stunning. + They had a decent discount on all their massages, which were also very good. + Very spacious rooms with an excellent design. + A bit further away from the centre, which was perfect for me because you can escape the noise of Siem Reap while being only a 15-minute tuk-tuk ride away from the centre.

- When we checked in, we counted 18 mosquitoes flying in our room, and we realized that while the hotel looked amazing, the jungle-like setting had also attracted a lot of mosquitoes. Unfortunately, every time housekeeping cleaned the room, they would leave the doors wide open, attracting even more mosquitoes. There were also holes above the terrace doors, so every time we came back to the hotel there were already new mosquitoes in the room. They were so prevalent throughout the whole property that it was difficult to use the pool after dark, because the moment you stepped out of the water they would get all over you. They do spray something against them, but not often enough unfortunately. - The pools should be cleaned more regularly. Sometimes there were so many bugs swimming inside that it was impossible to use them. - We found a centipede in our bathroom. - While the reception staff were very nice and competent, the restaurant staff were a different story. Every time we tried to order something, the food would either arrive very late, be different from what we ordered, or they would not have it at all. In addition to that, although breakfast was until 10 and we were told we could come any time until then, when we arrived around 9:45 the staff were visibly unhappy with us and quite abrasive - The bed linen had stains on it, and even though I asked for it to be changed, every time they changed it, the new linen also had stains, which was very frustrating.

Very clean & well maintained

A fantastic experience from start to finish. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, always going above and beyond to make my stay extra special. The facilities were exceptional and also a great way to meet other guests and local expats who paid to use the facilities. I ended up making new friends that helped me experience parts of the area I would have necessarily viewed otherwise. I cannot wait to visit Khmer House Resort again. An extra bonus was the hotel's own resident cat, who came to see me every morning when I was having a coffee and made herself comfy on my lap. Apparently, she stays away from tourists, but she made herself comfy with me on my first day and it became a ritual! Absolutely adorable.
