Cool hotel in Hot Jaffna

The hotel was a cool relief from the heat of Jaffna. The restaurant served great food, one of the best breakfasts we had in Sti Lanka. The pool (while a little warm) was a nice way to cool down. The room was a great size and very clean and comfortable. Wifi in the hotel was strong. Very close to train station

Expensive and underwhelming.

Room was clean. Nice pool.

Expensive. WIFI really didn't work well - was cut off during a conference call. Hotel provided a separate route but on the last day this also failed. Gym looked as advertised but without working AC was too hot to even step into the room with sun beating down through large glass windows. Poorly thought out!

Great location, convenient facilities

There was a lavish breakfast buffet with Western, Indian and Sri Lankan options over the weekend. On Monday they had an ala carte menu with four courses. Very substantial, great service

Outstanding contemporary hotel with superb rooms, food and attentive staff

Everything. Good location opposite the train station. A beautiful, contemporary hotel with large, comfortable rooms and a balcony. Large bathrooms with an excellent shower. The facilities are excellent including a fitness room and a beautiful swimming pool. Also, there are bikes to hire which I did one day. The breakfasts were amazing and the choice/ presentation of food was superb. Best of all, the staff were friendly, helpful, attentive and very welcoming. The general manager Ramesh is very personable and kind man and really very interesting to talk with. His colleague Sam who managed the restaurant was, likewise, extremely kind and made me feel very welcome. The reception staff are all lovely and again very helpful. I had a lot of correspondence with Kawsher and he was very polite and arranged things for me. All in all, faultless and very memorable.

great location, the people are lovely. the hotel is clean.

The hotel is good but the staff need more training. The staff were very polite and helpful but sometimes you needed to ask for things several times before it is delivered.

Despite the staff being very polite and helpful we would not stay here again, Or recommend it to light sleepers.

The staff were very polite and helpful. The was a good size. It was in a good location to walk around the town.

It was very noisy mainly because it didn’t feel like it was well insulated. We could hear someone else’s wake up alarm in a different room. They have events there, with music that can be heard throughout the hotel.

Loved the stay here! Would come back to stay when we visit Sri Lanka again!

We had a great stay! Staff was awesome and accommodated for all our requests and made our stay very comfortable! Hotel was clean and their restaurant food was great too! Also huge thanks to front desk manager for going out of his way to find accomodation for us in the next stop!

We had a pleasant stay and thoroughly enjoyed all the meals.

Very convenient to go to all the attractions. Buffet breakfast was excellent and very tasty. All the staff were very friendly and polite. The restaurant managers were very attentive and made sure that the best customer services was provided to all the guests. Many options and variety of tasty dishes were displayed for buffet dinner. Roof top pool was good and we enjoyed our swimming. We will certainly stay at this hotel during our next visits too.

Definitely recommend this place.

Great hotel with excellent location. Hotel staff were very attentive and helpful with everything we needed. We usually don’t eat in hotel restaurant but we had amazing two meals there.

Very nice hotel, with a lot of nice staff! really delicious restaurant with different options. Our room was always clean thanks to kajirithiran! we would love to come back again another time! definitely a recommendation from here! Thus there is also a very nice pool.

Good location and staff are very friendly

Management is lazy. Bad Breakfast and buffet dinner. They don't offer enough local produce. Jaffna is famous for fruits but here they don't serve enough fruits for breakfast. Don't go the buffet dinner as it has not enough choices

Lovely Staff and Delicious Cuisine, with a Few Downsides

My partner and I recently stayed at Jaffna North Gate Hotel during our trip to Jaffna. We found the hotel to be a good option for those looking for accommodation in the area. The hotel's restaurant was definitely the highlight of our stay, with a great selection of delicious dishes at affordable prices. The breakfast buffet was also fantastic, offering a variety of options that were both tasty and satisfying. Moreover, the restaurant staff were lovely, friendly, and always willing to assist us in any way they could.

However, we did notice a few drawbacks during our stay. The air conditioning in our room seemed a bit outdated and was not able to cool our room properly upon arrival, which was a bit uncomfortable. The price for laundry was also quite high, which was disappointing. Additionally, while the pool was usable, the pool area was a bit rundown and could benefit from some refurbishment. In summary, we enjoyed our stay at Jaffna North Gate Hotel for its great restaurant, reasonable prices for food, and lovely staff. However, be aware of the high cost for laundry and the somewhat dated pool area.

SUPERB ACCOMMADATION. Definitely will return again next time.

Great customer service. Praveen was awesome. Other staffs are great as well. From cleanness to comfort to food are all great. Superb!!!
