About this condo rental

Located in Nassau, this attractive condo for $189 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Welcome to our beautiful old building in the heart of downtown Nassau! Our unique artist studio is located in a secluded courtyard space. This 200+ year old building was the annex of the main house that once sat on the front of this property. This annex served as the kitchen for the main house and still has original fireplace where food was prepared. The annex has been restored and repurposed as an art gallery and studio space by internationally renowned Bahamian artist, Antonius Roberts. It serves as a community art space where creative people gather. Hillside House is very serene and peaceful even though it is in the midst of the hustle and bustle of downtown. The exposed limestone walls and paint splattered concrete floors add to the studio’s charming character. All year round the weather is beautiful and you can enjoy the romantic courtyard filled with local orchids. The courtyard also hosts our bar Tuesday to Sunday evenings until 9PM. The studio space is filled with our favourite odds, ends and a healthy collection of art books. The studio walls are also adorned with original artwork by Bahamian artists. You are always welcome to pop next door and view the gallery’s current exhibition. Come and be inspired by the island! There are two double beds in the loft space. The studio has it's own bathroom with a spacious shower. The kitchenette contains a mini fridge, coffee/tea maker, toaster, and convection microwave. All cooking dishes/utensils provided.

We enjoyed our stay at this quaint studio. It is centrally located so you can visit many sites. Make sure to visit the adjacent gallery to see the artwork of Antonius Roberts. Selena was welcoming and responsive host.

If you need a place with great character, and fantastic convenience to downtown, this is it. It was a little well worn, but safe and clean.

It was a nice place in a great location. Communication was initially excellent as well. My only quibble is it is marketed as "quiet" but there is an outdoor bar with music right outside the room. We went to bed early and used earplugs and it was fine. If you want to stay up late and drink I'm sure this is a plus. My rating is low because the power went out overnight and remained off through checkout. It got hot without A/C, we couldn't fully charge our devices, and the shower wasn't hot. I sent a message to the host in the morning and another since and haven't received a reply. So I don't know if this is a common problem. Other businesses nearby didn't appear to have any power issues that morning.

Cute and clean property, and Great location in downtown. Would have been perfect if not for the noise made by the neighbor, cutting grass or using some other machinery at 6am on the 2nd morning.

Really enjoyed the stay sans one thing: one of the loft mattress (futon) was terrible. My back hurt after on night. Just felt as if it had a bad spot. I moved down to the couch/twin bed downstairs and slept like a baby. Location was great with awesome food and drinks just outside your door - it was small grill and bar run by nephews of the artist - and next door to a great art gallery with art from the artist and a small gift shop next to it (sorry if nothing left for the next guest as we bought many items!). We took a Rum Tour and the tour guide asked where were staying, said he knew the place; well it was they last place on the tour!! The reason for location score being low was two burned out buildings right next to the location that were full of trash and such. But, that Sunday a crew showed up and cleaned it up. Was amazed how thoroughly clean cleaned it!! Would definitely stay again and would suggest it to anyone looking for a great location with history!!

The studio is so unique, in such a great location! We particularly enjoyed the bar out front and the chalk wall with art from previous guests. Wish we had stayed another night!
