Stunning Building and Architecture

This is not your average stay, this is living inside a museum from the 15th century. If you can appreciate the aesthetic

Position, size of rooms, view of the balcony, furniture, murals, ambient. This is a special place. One of a kind.

weak Wi-Fi that doesn’t cover all rooms, but it is normal with such old houses with massive walls. I understand that everything in this property is museum worthy and needs special restoration even for the slightest defect, but some extra attention to wall paint and or cleaning would be nice.

Fantastic

brilliant location and access to associated swimming pool although needed a taxi to get there. In a beautiful old town building

No tea towels to dry dishes or instructions for rubbish. Would have had better travel options if we had had a hire car but the auto is taxi worked well when we could make ourselves understood

If u like to stay somewhere unique , this is it

The location was just incredible . The building we entered was erected in 800 A.D. It was like living in a museum . The room and living area were perfect . The balcony just magical as you could get a glimpse from the beautiful lake . The little area around was like out of a painting. Nicely located to see the Tuscany and Umbria. The host was super friendly and knowledgeable.

The bed was very uncomfortable.It was like sleeping on a rock . The shower was in the bath top and difficult to use . The internet did not work at all. Also , all the restaurants did not serve dinner before 0730 hrs at night , which is quite late , when you are travelling and have been up since 6 am . But the experience we guess was worth it .

The combination of beautiful historic rooms with some nice art. Very spacious and right on the main street. The staff was very helpful,.and even gave me an upgrade!

The location was good in the middle of the town and the rooms were spacious.

Worst place we stayed our entire trip- lack of communication and follow-up, all around unprofessional which is unfortunate because it's in a good location and has potential to be a great stay. we understand rooms are old and have character but they smelled musty/moldy with ripped furniture and hard beds. we were supposed to stay 2 nights here but took the hit and left after 1. we never received a response from Brando when we called/messaged him this.

We will return to Castiglione del Lago but not to Palazzo Barbini

great location ancient building dating to 1200 AD lovely to wake up next to the church bell at 8 am every day In close reach of all the restaurants , free parking close by under the trees Use of country house with pool and some really good food & wine

ancient air conditioning that makes a grinding noise every 20 seconds - not great ancient beds with mattresses that need replacing ancient pluming - shower flooded the bathroom unless only used at a trickle we paid for cleaning every day ( 280 Euro) - sadly this was just superficial and our toddler crawling on the floor had black hands and knees each time she did it

The location was good but I would not stay again as the bed was uncomfortable and the whole place smelt musty

it was close to the town centre

The property had a musty smell . The bed was hard and creaked very loudly every time either one of us turned over in bed.There was no daily service of towels and despite selecting a booking with breakfast included we were told it wasn’t included !

Fabulous characterful room.

Local restaurant (under the appartment) fabulous. Local cafe (square 30m away) lovely staff and breakfast. Very comfortable appartment, lovely host.

Eclectic appartment, nice hilltop village, very comfy bed! Hamman. Local restaurant.

Paid overnight parking outside village walls, so not secure with a car full of luggage.

Super centrally located in the historic city centre, spacious, beautiful and clean apartment, well-equipped, terrace with lake view, very friendly staff; great swimming pool at their manor (at 2,5 km from the apartment; best to bring your own pool towels). Restaurant downstairs (called 909) deserves 10 out of 10 score for their meat dishes - absolutely fabulous quality, made with pride!

Castiglione is really worth a visit

Beautiful rooms. The roofterrace was great. Central location in a small but wonderful town. Nice staff. Nice pool though a bit far away (car necessary). Restaurant in same house made great food.

Kitchen utensils were few and poor quality. The AC broke down and became noisy but we were compensated for that. Cleaning of floors could be better.

It was spasious,very close to restaurants.I like the view from the teras.

It wasn't so beautiful, as it looks like in the photos. It really need a renovation! I know,it is an old building, but doorsteps, the floor, the walls, the doors were outworn. Kitchen was unequipped, and in a cupboard! Dishes were unwashed. Dining room was shady, depressing, moreover with not enough lights. In the bathroom you couldn''t set the water temperature, and has bad smell. The floor was dirty...what else?

Fantastic 2 bedroom aparment with 2 full bathrooms and a terrace with views acroas the lake. We enjoyed the non-touristic town with good restaurants and plenty tobdo in the.area.

The building is gorgeous, as the bedrooms and the common room. Excellent location and lovely staff. They also have a wine bar and can recommend you a bottle that you can take as a souvenir or drink in your room.

Awesome medieval palace in Castiglione!

- rooms: Suite with Terrace - Brando is probably the best suite you can find on Castiglione - landscape: it is provably the only Hotel that offers a terrace with the awesome landscape of the lake - perfectly connected with the medieval atmosphere of the town. Rooms are ancient but overall well maintained - the owner is extremely available and it will do anything he can in order to satisfy your needs/problems

- nothing. The Palace is an awesome gem and probably the best structure in the town. Just some minimal hints: baths have bad smell sometimes and lights maintain a bit of light even if turned off

Great location and unique grand heritage style decor.

Unique heritage decor with some touches personal to landlord (son as a fresco cherub in room named for him) Have used restaurant before when not staying and it was excellent.

Bed a little hard. Wi-Fi not consistently available. No lift.

The rooms are in a beautiful old townhouse in the old town, steps away from the castle and the lake. The room we had was quiet and featured a well-equipped kitchen. There was no balcony but good air-conditioning. The style is opulent and old-timey. A very comfortable place to stay.

Unfortunately the WiFi was useless. Also there is not a food shop within walking distance so unless you make a big trip to get food from a supermarket in the new part of town, the kitchen is a bit of a waste. However there are plenty of good quality, reasonably priced restaurants and cafes around - including those run by the ubiquitous host of the property Mario!

Amazing location, great host!

The condo is located nicely in the historic area of the village in the narrow roads. Opposite to the impressive church entry it gives a historical impression! Mario is an amazing host!
