Friendly and accommodating staff, good breakfast. While the bar was a little limited, there was a very nice quiet room nearby. The restaurant had character. The dinner was very good and breakfast also. An unusual take on porridge!

The hotel is lovely and set in a beautiful location. The staff were friendly and the food was great. I loved the father / son approach in the kitchen and they couldnt do any more for me during my short stay. Beer and food were great and the views lovely.
The room is a little tired but clean. The wifi did not reach the room meaning I had to use my mobile data during the stay. The electric heated water was a bit quirky but worked ok.

Perfect breakfast, homemade bread, selection of really good quality ingredients and breakfast choice for all. And great butter! Lovely restaurant/breakfast room. Fantastic evening meals too!
Really comfy beds. Amazingly good service.
I was actually a little bit warm with the duvet, but I suppose that's unusual in the Lake District.
