The restaurant is good. The breakfast good. The sauna lovely (my wife tells me) the hot tub nice. The location good. Staff helpful and friendly. There's a dog. Our travel plans changed and they rearranged the date at short notice and without a fuss (but forgot to knock the difference between our initial expensive booking and our second cheaper one. They did when I pointed it out.) It's a great place to stay.
The design of the building that the rooms are in mean that even though we had a larger room they are still quite pokey (larger means longer not more space around the bed.) There's a lot of noise from other rooms. My wife and I each blamed the other for snoring until we realized it was coming from another room!

Excellent location, beautiful old house surrounded by incredible nature, great rooms.
We decided for this hotel because of the great SPA. Unfortunately they told us during the checkin there, that kids are not allowed in the pool, referring to the website and booking.com stating this there. It turned out, that it's not stated there and only gets mentioned in the booking process for the SPA after clicking a link in the confirmation email. My 5 year old daughter was very sad and we were very disappointed. It is misleading and unfair not making this clear before the booking is completed. It's definitely not a friendly place for families and I would not recommend considering coming there with kids. Also vegan options for dinner and breakfast are very limited.
