About this house rental
Located in Yarmouth, this lovely house for $266 per night is a great choice for your next break. A small home on the Harraseeket River, near South Freeport Harbor comes well stocked and decorated. It is available for weekly rental during May - October. This year we are offering rentals ( 3 night min.) May , June, September and October. A winter rental is an option as well. While staying on the river, you may be fortunate enough to experience a full moon. Some of us believe, there is nothing prettier than a full moon on the Harraseeket. A canoe or kayak can be launched right from the front yard. The Harraseeket River is delightful for kayaking, as well as the gateway to Freeport Harbor and into Casco Bay. Just five minutes away is downtown Freeport, home of LL Bean and many well-known retail outlets. From Freeport, you are well positioned to make day trips to many Maine coastal beaches and towns. In Freeport, you have Wolf Neck State Park and Winslow Park to enjoy. Portland is just 19 miles away for access to city life as well as ferries to islands in Casco Bay. Our Harraseeket Home is perfect for a romantic getaway or kayaker's dream vacation. Enjoy beautiful views of Casco Bay and South Freeport's own Harraseeket River. Minutes from downtown Freeport are a variety of beaches both north and south of us (Popham, Scarborough, Reid State Park, Higgins, etc). An ideal spot to relax and rejuvenate.

The cottage has a welcoming atmosphere with comfortable and attractive furnishings. The kitchen is small but well equipped.
There is a lovely peaceful view of the harraseeket River on the back deck where we ate many meals.
The cottage is a 6 minute drive to Freeport and qiute conveniently located to the excellent Bow Street Market.
Annie is a great host.

The cottage was the perfect place to stay with my two daughters (8 & 10). They had the entire loft to themselves & i got my own room. It was the perfect size & we didn't even need to use the downstairs bed. Even though our week was rainy, I still woke up to a gorgeous view of the water each day. It was located close downtown Freeport & Bow Street Market. We hopefully will be staying next year as well!

Property was beautifully maintained, as well as clean and very well equipped with items to start your stay. Including the convenience of being so close to Downtown Freeport, and Portland was short drive away. We would definitely stay again especially for the views.

Great place to unwind!
My husband and I and our two sons stayed for about a week at the house while attending a family reunion. It was lovely! The view to the water is so peaceful and gorgeous. We kayaked a few times and mostly took it easy on the deck talking and eating at the table. The house is comfy and decorated beautifully. Annie was so easy to work with and very responsive to questions. We would definitely go back.

The cottage is cozy and immaculate, and has everything our family of four needs for a perfect vacation. The kitchen is well stocked and works perfectly for us; our girls get their own bedroom spaces downstairs and in the loft; and the green space outside is phenomenal (so many birds!). Location could not be better for trips to Portland, Brunswick, Popham, Rockland, and, of course, Freeport shopping. Anne is a fantastic communicator and an extremely generous host. You will not be disappointed. This is a true GEM.

Our family of four loves this property. This year was our third visit. Beautiful, quiet neighborhood, lovely furnishings, and everything you need to feel at home. The view from the deck and the sounds of birds in the surrounding trees are sublime. Open the sliding door and enjoy the fresh air blowing in through the screen all day long. Five minutes to downtown Freeport. Easy drive up to Brunswick or down to Portland. This is "Downeast" perfection, and you couldn't ask for a more gracious, helpful owner.

My wife and I had a great time relaxing at Annie's place! Clean, comfortable, and accurately described in the listing. Great location, very quiet and peaceful. Great internet connection for those unfortunate enought to have to work while you're there, but instantly on vacation once you hit the deck or the fire pit!

Such a beautiful spot!
This little place is has beautiful view, any hour of the day or evening, out onto the water. The kitchen has everything you might need for whipping up breakfast or grilling a tasty dinner. Amy also left a booklet of suggested places to visit, dining, activies etc which was very helpful. We had a great week.

Peaceful retreat
Our family of 4 had a great time at this cute home. Amazing views and close enough to everything but removed enough to be completely peaceful. We really loved watching the bald eagles from the living room, deck and front yard. Be sure to check out Sandy Beach, we didn't discover this until later in our stay but it's a tiny little beach just down the street from the home, very convenient and secluded.

The cottage is very comfortable, peaceful and quiet. I was there for work and my wife and daughter came along, and we enjoyed ourselves very much. Next time we want to stay longer. There is a perfect amount of space to do everything, and the view is really cool. I will book here again.

Perfect spot for a girlfriends weekend
Two friends and I stayed here for three nights in July. It was the perfect space for us--everyone got her own bedroom, but we enjoyed hanging out on the deck and in the kitchen and living room. The wall of windows brings beautiful views and plenty of sunshine in every morning. Although we didn't get a chance to do much cooking, the kitchen is well-equipped and Annie was thoughtful enough to have coffee at the house and frosty glasses in the freezer for our cold beverages! Annie's communication via email was also helpful and timely. She was just as friendly and gracious in person.
A few tips on local amenities: there is a lobster pound about a mile away, but Erica's in Harpswell is much more picturesque and less expensive. Check out the breweries (Gritty's, Maine Beer) in town; the food at Gritty's is better than you might expect (especially the smoked salmon salad) and the beers are great. There's a custard place a little ways south on Rte. 1 that's worth a visit for a sweet treat. Freeport is very close, but if you just want a quiet stay away from it all, this house is perfect.
The marina down the road (Ring's) will rent and deliver kayaks to the house for a reasonable daily rate (and you can keep them overnight). Paddling down the river is really fun--just be aware of the tides. Low tide is really low! Plus, you can put in from the back yard, but it's quite a steep grade to get down to the water, so you need a little muscle to carry the boats across the yard and down (not to mention back up). Take a dip in the river, too, if you get a chance--it's so pleasant on a hot day. And... the full moon over the river really is quite a magical sight!
Overall, this is a great spot. My friends and I are already thinking about coming back next summer!

Perfection!
My husband and I and are 7-month old baby stayed here for two weeks and had the most relaxing vacation. I'm sorry to say that the photos don't do this house justice, because you must stand in the center of the main floor and just see for yourself. The living landscape framed by the "wall of glass"..is just priceless. This was my 5th trip to Freeport, and my husband grew up here - so we were not new to this neighborhood and area. But every morning was a remarkable welcome, looking at the yard and the river. Watching the sometimes fickle Maine weather change before our eyes was really fun. I really felt like I was connected to the landscape the entire stay.
We laid out on blankets every day and relished the quiet. The trees are especially beautiful on the property. We grilled every evening, and what a treat to have both charcoal and gas! The kitchen is well-stocked, and the washer and dryer worked perfectly. The house was immaculate and fresh!
The two bedrooms were quaint and cozy and the beds were very comfortable. The loft space was a fun and safe play area for our baby. There is definitely room to spare with plenty of closet space provided and dressers and tables. The house is so well thought-out with somewhere cozy to sit almost every space of the house.

Charming Maine Cabin
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming Maine cabin. When we arrived, we were delighted to find that the photos appropriately represented the property. A wall of glass leading out to a deck framed the lovely yard anchored by enormous trees - along with a fabulous view of the river. The house was clean, beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was equipped to fit our needs. The furnishings were colorful and the location was quiet and very convenient to downtown Freeport. The owner was very responsive to our questions and we would not hesitate to recommend this property.

GREAT HOUSE, BEAUTIFUL VIEW
I rented this house for two-week periods during the last two summers. The location is wonderful, the house is very comfortable, and has everything you need. The living room, kitchen, and deck look out onto the Harraseeket River, which is a wide inlet from Casco Bay. There is a state park across the river, so there are no interruptions to the great view. Freeport has wonderful shopping and is very close. South Freeport is quiet, except for the wonderful Harraseeket restaurant, which is nearby. I recommend the lobster roll, crab sandwich, or fresh fish sandwiches without reservation. It is crowded in summer, but the wait is worth it for the view and the fresh seafood. Portland is also nearby, with many wonderful cultural, shopping, and foodie adventures. This is an ideal vacation spot, and I hope to rent Annie's house in future years. She is friendly and helpful. Enjoy your stay in this great house!
