1. The location:
Neromylos is a small group of studios built around a beautifully restored old watermill. One of the apartments is actually located where the original mill used to be, and you can still see parts of the old machinery and structure inside. The stone buildings and authentic details give the place a very special character.
We were looking for a quiet and secluded place, but at the same time close to the sea, and Neromylos turned out to be exactly that. It is peaceful and private, yet only about 300 metres from the port and nearby restaurants, and around 350 metres from the beach. The studio itself was spotless and very comfortable, with a fully equipped kitchen and two separate air conditioning units conveniently controlled with one remote. The room, bathroom, and beds were cleaned and made up every day to a standard you would expect from a quality four-star hotel.
2. The host:
The owner was one of the highlights of our stay. He knows Kythira inside and out, its history, geography, local life and places worth visiting. We had many interesting conversations with him about life on the island. He gave us generous and thoughtful recommendations that helped us discover places and experiences we might otherwise have missed. He was much more than a host, almost like having a local friend and guide who genuinely wanted us to experience the island. We kept them map with his hand notes of recommendations. There were also so many warm and personal touches
3. The extras:
Every day we received a delicious homemade cake baked by his mother. We were also given Greek yoghurt, thyme honey, and fresh orange juice. The garden is full of rosemary, thyme, and lots of flowers, creating a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere.
What stayed with us most, though, is the combination of the place itself, its history, the beautiful location, and the genuine warmth of the owner.

The house was super clean and stocked with all the necessities. The host changed the bed linens and emptied the bins frequently. It was well-renovated, and everything worked properly. Also very quiet!
However, even though all the other apartments were empty during our stay, we were put in the last unit on the ground floor. This specific apartment wasn't very bright due to its location, and the view was mediocre. Overall, we felt it was a bit pricey for what we got.

Η τοποθεσία ήταν ότι έπρεπε για τα δικά μου δεδομένα!! Διότι ήταν πολύ ήσυχο περιβάλλον για ξεκούραση κ πολύ κοντά στη θάλασσα ώστε να μην χρειάζεται όχημα για της αγορές η το φαγητό στην Αγία Πελαγία!!! Κάνοντάς κ τον περίπατο σου ή την βόλτα σου το απογευματάκι,πηγενωντας για το φαγητό ή τον καφέ σου!!!
Δεν νομίζω ότι είχε κάτι αρνητικό, ούτε το κατάλυμα αλλά ούτε κ η τοποθεσία. Όσο δε για τον ιδιοκτήτη ευγενεστατος,εξηπηρετικοτατος μέγας γνώστης του νησιού κ τέλειος επαγγελματίας!!!

Sehr persönliche und warmherzige Betreuung durch den Eigentümer Vangelis. Auf Bedarf stand er immer zur Verfügung und engagierte sich sehr für seine Gäste. Ihm gehört auch das 2** Hotel Kithareia am Hafen mit seinem Souvenirshop. Sehr sauberes Apartment mit 2 Liegestühlen auf der schattigen Terrasse, wo wir unvergessliche Stunden der Entspannung verbrachten.
Vangeli, alles top, nur über Glastüren in der Dusche statt dem Duschvorhang hätten wir uns angesichts des Mietpreises und aufgerufenen Niveaus sehr gefreut. Trotzdem volle Punktzahl.
