Amazing property with gorgeous sunset views! It was a very large house compared to our other VRBO’s on Portugal’s mainland. We really appreciated the host’s hospitality! The driveway is steep and narrow, which was intimidating at first, but we got the hang of it!

From 2/3 days before our stay we were in constant contact with the property manager who was extremely helpful and informative. He met us on the day to show us around and the property was immaculate and extremely well equipped! Due to the property being up quite a steep hill it is advised to get a hire car as we did find after the first day taxis are very expensive so if you want to visit other parts of the island then do get a hire car! We had an amazing stay and would highly recommend this place.

Das Haus ist toll und der Vermieter ist super nett und hilfsbereit. Die Kommunikation lief über WA und war total unkompliziert. Joao hat uns alle Fragen zum Haus, aber auch zur Insel und Kultur, sehr schnell beantwortet. Das Haus ist modern, sehr sauber/ gepflegt und sympathisch eingerichtet. Alle Räume sehen wie frisch renoviert aus. Außerdem gibt es in allen Wohnräumen eine Klimaanlage. Die Küche ist bestens ausgestattet, einzig grundlegende Gewürze wie Salz und Pfeffer haben gefehlt, aber der nahe Supermarkt hat alles für den täglichen Gebrauch im Angebot. Auf der Terrasse/ dem Garten steht ein Tisch mit Stühlen, ein Sonnenschirm und Sonnenliegen (Auflagen gibt es auch) zur Verfügung. Der Ausblick vom Frühstück auf die Berge und das Meer waren immer ein Highlight. Wie hier schon mehrmals geschrieben ist die Anfahrt zum Haus ein bisschen abenteuerlich, aber nach 2 Tagen hat man sich daran gewöhnt, wie übrigens an die restlichen, teilweise auch sehr abenteuerlichen Straßen auf Madeira auch. Als Auto empfehlen wir auf jeden Fall ein PS-starkes Auto mit Automatikschaltung, weil man sich bei den sehr bergigen Straßen sonst echt einen Wolf schaltet. Wer abends noch Lust auf einen Poncha hat, dem können wir die Poncha-Bar Poncha do Lombo doutor sehr empfehlen. Der steile, 600 m lange Aufstieg wird mit der Auswahl von 8 verschiedenen Ponchas (alle sehr lecker) entschädigt. Die Bar ist etwas ab vom Touristen-Trubel und macht einen authentischen Eindruck (und wenn uns der Eindruck nicht getrübt hat, waren alle Menschen an den Nachbartischen meistens Einheimische). Alles in allem hat das tolle Ferienhaus zu einem sehr gelungenen Urlaub beigetragen. :-)
