Fabulous hotel in an equally fabulous setting.

The steps up to the reception, bar and restaurants were difficult for people with compromised mobility, which should be pointed out on their website and booking apps.

Old place with period decor. Narrow entrance from lane outside. Take care if you’re in a big car. Drop bags off next to building then park up. Friendly reception and help with our luggage to the room (no lifts). Room was comfortable but not large. Corner bath with shower. Separate WC. Good Breakfast to order (tick boxes on form), served with a smile. Expensive evening meal but very tasty and nicely presented. Limited choices. Large grounds in need of some TLC. Close to Tours without being in the city.

No lift, with steps to reception and rooms. Could do with a non-slip mat if you use the shower. I used a hand towel. Silly money for some of the wines and spirits. Very slow service when we wanted a drink in the bar before dinner, maybe a trainee staff member. Don’t expect to eat in a hurry. Evening meal started at 19:45 and finished at 22:15 for us. Plenty of time between courses for chat. Hotel is in a rural spot with no other restaurants or cafes nearby.
