I had dinner and breakfast at the hotel which were both very good and the staff were friendly. The room was pleasant and clean with a decent mattress and pillows, plus the location was quiet.
The shower water pressure was very low so wasn't great and the tv in the room was very small. The room radiator did not work but there was a portable on in the cupboard if needed.

I prefer to stay in places with character and charm. It had a comfortable bar area and the dining room had nicely spaced out tables. The small double bedroom No 6 was clean with a shower room and excellent value for money. There was an excellent selection for the evening meal and we all chose a curry. We all agreed that the food was excellent in taste, presentation and value for money. The same could be said for breakfast.
I’m a great believer in you get what you pay for and in this instance it would be unfair to complain about anything and will hope to stay again next year

Nice historic building
Not a particularly warm welcome. Passed over by male manager to a lady mid check in after immediately advising we must make a reservation for next days breakfast that night, and the kitchen might or might not be open depending on time requested.
A £20 refundable deposit was also taken unnecessarily. Very matter of fact.
Waited at the empty unstaffed bar for around 10 minutes and when staff arrived was still overlooked initially. Sign on the bar stating it closes at 9.30. Why ?
We decided that our custom wasn’t seemingly that welcome so walked into the village for dinner and a few drinks.
Room basic and actually quite cold. Bath towel was more like a hand towel. Shower was nothing more than a trickle.Generally room needed updating
