Amazing 3 day stay

Beautiful hotel. Rooms are very clean and spacious. We stayed for 3 days. Food was very various and it was delicious. Staff very friendly! Also great music and shows in the evening.

If you need a transfer to/from the airport, better to book alone. Hotel price is too expensive.

Overall a pleasant stay....

Beautiful and scenic seafront.... The property is well developed. Outdoor pools and lawns were very inviting and well-maintained. Food was tasteful and flavoursome.

The staff were generally pleasant and responsive but they looked under-staffed. There is no kitchen room service available officially. Food and beverages options are limited and repetitive compared to other similar resorts worldwide. Lacks a bit in value for the money.

The venue is lovely, we enjoyed pool time and few indoor sports, but didn't get money's worth.

We enjoyed the lush green garden, a massive room, the main pool, squash, and Table tennis. Some of the staff were truly hospitable.

I was here on 25/26 July. 1. The commode in room 601 was not properly cleaned. There was muck in it. I had to pin point it to room service. 2. We ordered few items a la carte and the waiter Adithya made a blunder. Gave us an item we didn’t want. We waited 10 + minutes while he checked if the item we didn’t order can be returned, and he said nothing can be done as it was already charged to the card. By this time the food was cold too. It’s not difficult to reverse a payment. Especially when we are unduly charged for something we didn’t want. 3. The AC in the room would not go below 18 degrees. During the night it was uncomfortably warm. And not cooling even at 18 degrees. 4. The food overall was a disappointment. Hardly any options. The taste and quality falling short. Neither were the plates kept warm. Which are basics for a 4 star hotel run by Aitken Spence. It was apparent that they were cost cutting to great extents. 5. The housekeeping staff are unruly. playing “drum” with the windows in floor 6, singing loudly and passing remarks as we passed by. The commotion could be heard to the rooms. 6.Spoke with Mr. Dananjaya as customer service prior to making a booking. When I had issues with the service, I dropped a message asking whom these could be directed to. He responded 3 days later saying I could inform him.

It was wonderful, they need to ramp up some gaming facilities, and probably give a facelift.

The staff, they were amazing! The food was good as well.

Rooms were old, a bit dusty and run down.

Meals were excellent. Staff was very helpful too.

Toothpastes and tooth brushes were supplied only when requested. No room service.

Our stay at the Turyaa was a mixed experience, with enjoyable meals and friendly

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Turyaa, and we had a pleasant experience. The dinner and breakfast included in our half-board package were delicious and offered a wide variety of options. The staff was generally friendly, although we did encounter a few who seemed a bit cunning. The hotel had two pools, and the larger one was particularly enjoyable. We also loved the nice sea view from our room, and the facilities were in good condition. Overall, we had a comfortable and satisfying stay.

However, I have mixed feelings about my recent stay at the Turyaa. While the dinner and breakfast provided were enjoyable with a good range of options and great taste, there were a couple of disappointing aspects. Despite booking a large double bedroom, we were given two single beds pushed together, resulting in an uncomfortable trench in the middle. The hotel explained that all the rooms with proper double beds were already booked, which left us feeling helpless. It would have been better if they had removed the option for a large double bed from the booking if none were available on the website. Another issue was the bathroom shower, which had very low water pressure. It took a significant amount of time to wash properly due to the slow flow of water. Apart from these concerns, everything else was acceptable. I would advise potential guests to carefully check the room's bed arrangement before booking and be prepared for possible inconveniences with the shower.

Great value for money.

The location was great and value for money for the room-only rate. Since we had a room on the highest floor, the view was spectacular. The staff was really nice and it seems that due to the off-season it was not overstaffed. All in all good stay.

The buffet prices when inquired cost Rs. 5,000 per head which is reasonable. However, since we were looking for budget options we anticipated the ala carte menu to be available for lower prices. But the hotel said it was not available.

room and food were good. better if the beach and the sea were safer.

breakfast was good. had a fairly wide variety of food to choose from. about the location, although a beach front, the beach was red flagged and on a higher ground than the sea. wished that we could enjoy a sea bath.

parking was not available on the site. even the space shown to us close to the hotel was then told to have been reserved for hotel vehicle. a bit of a hassle but managed eventually.

Perfection

The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was spacious and clean.The hotel was wonderful. It was even better than expected. The price was amazing. Great location. We really loved the character f the hotel. The restaurant was fantastic and the staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again.

on the beach. nice big bedroom. entertainment at night staff very nice

not near any shops or restaurants. some of the entertainment was poor and the visitors were not encouraged to join in. the buffet was boring and the food Not very nice and nowhere else near to go to dine.

Beautiful hotel with more potential

A beautiful property which is quite welcoming spacious and interesting planned. Interesting concept of a self service welcome drink. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious with a great view of the sea. The restaurant staff are quite friendly and helpful especially the lady restaurant manager who goes out of the way to make sure that the guest are comfortable. They offer a great breakfast buffet which is highly recommended and worth the price.

The check in process takes a bit of time. Although this is a four star property they do not offer room service which was quite a bummer and in terms of in room amenities they did not have any bed room slipper, bath robes etc. The amnesties were bare minimum. The mini bar too wasn’t well stocked.

This was a surprise trip arranged for my father on his birthday. I really appreciate the support of Turyaa staff especially Dumindu from the reception who massively helped me arranging the surprise cake for him. Lovely place and even I’ve been to the property more than 5 times and would love to pay a visit when I’m back in Sri Lanka.

Great Stay!

Hey travellers. We booked a last minute stay in Turyaa as some of our travel plans had changed. I have to say our experience was superb. The hotel is clean and well maintained. (although we didn’t see the south wing as it was closed for renovations) They’ve got amazing view overlooking the beach and the rooms are comfortable and well equipped. However what made sour stay really memorable is the service. The staff is very friendly and professional. I could say everyone was great but a few employees stood out: Hirosha, Washanti, Sashini, Chamath, Tharuk. We interacted with them the most and they really made us feel special during our stay. I would recommend to stay in this hotel if you are looking for relaxation. However if you are adventurous and looking to explore there is actually not much to do in Kalutara and the surroundings.

Too strong waves and current prevented us from swimming. Although it’s not the hotels fault but this was the only negative.

It's an okay place, don't expect to much, they need time

Breakfast okay, rooms okay, garden fine...staff were okay. The train in the backyard isn't to disturbing

Place is a bit rusty ... Rooms, buildings, staff, food, surroundings, sun beds, stairs, balconies, .. Staff just do what they are paid for, nothing extra. No information you have to figure out yourself, no shuttle bus only help with a little touch of irritation and only from hotel to the airport no help even though I arrived 4 am... The place needs to b clean up in many ways. It might come after some seasons - I hope..
