Hotel Spa Mansion Santa Isabella

This is a cute historic hotel. We stayed in the newer building, and it was done very well to blend into the original design. The room was comfortable for our stay. We had limited hot water our first night, but the second time it was really hot so we probably just hit the wrong time of day. Breakfast each morning was included, there were a lot of choices on the buffet. Our room was facing the inner courtyard, and had a nice balcony with a door we could open for fresh air. It was very quiet, which is always nice in a big city. The location is good, its just a few blocks to the main squares and city museum. The staff at the front desk were very nice, and even though we didn't speak much Spanish they made us feel welcome.

It wasn't clear to us how the amenities such as the spa, restaurant and subterranean bar worked. There was no information posted although we believe the restaurant is open for dinners for guests, because we saw staff cleaning up the kitchen in the evening. These areas used to be public spaces but appears just for the hotel guests now. The breakfast had a lot of options, but it was a bit slow being replenished. We ate at 8am our first morning, and several things were already empty when service had only begun at 7. It was better the second day, but it may have just been because less people were eating.

Excellent family stay in this beautiful grand hotel in the Riobamba historic centre. The staff was extremely helpful, kind and attentive. The bedrooms are very comfortable with very clean large bathrooms. Diner and breakfast were delicious homemade food.

During our stay, some of the the spa services weren’t available due to renovation so we didn’t have the chance to use the full facilities. No worries, we understand that the he work has to be done : )

At my arrival no one was there and since I couldn’t park outside the property I had to park nearby leaving all my belongings inside the car and walk towards the hotel and knock the door so they can check me in. Also the property has wooden floor and squeaks a lot

Neat and a lot of character. 2nd room was much better than the first, but also in a very different part of the hotel.

Had to change rooms. 1st room I could hear EVERYTHING. Road noise (understandable) but the lobby fountain, conversations in the lobby, silverware getting dumped at 10:30 at night, and the incessant muzak being played seemed to be amplified through the walls. My window was a view into the hallway and was covered by an old changing barrier on the outside. Breakfast was off.... The juice was watered down, the bread was stale. The yogurt and cheese tasted off.
