Protea Hotel by Marriott Dar es Salaam Courtyard

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Marriott Protea Hotel Courtyard in Dar es Salaam. The hotel was peaceful and comfortable, providing the ideal environment in which to relax and prepare for the following day. My room was serviced daily and was always clean, well presented and supplied with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The fresh bedding and towels were particularly appreciated, as was the thoughtful evening mosquito-spraying service at approximately 18:00. Breakfast was a daily highlight and exceeded my expectations. The generous variety catered for different dietary needs and preferences, while the beautifully presented breakfast table reflected the care and attention invested each day. The dinners were equally enjoyable, and the restaurant staff were consistently attentive, accommodating, warm and friendly. Every staff member contributed to a memorable experience - from the security personnel at the gate and the reception and administrative staff to the porters, room and pool attendants, restaurant hostess, Yasintha and her team. I also extend my appreciation to the chefs and other behind-the-scenes staff who prepared and presented the meals each day. Although it is difficult to single out individuals, I would especially like to thank Arnold, one of the porters, for his friendly assistance in obtaining special mementoes to take home. The beautifully maintained swimming pool was another striking feature, particularly at night when the lighting transformed the water into a brilliant 'azure blue' reminiscent of Tanzania’s famous tanzanite. My only regret is that I did not pack my swimming costume! Thank you to the entire team for your exceptional hospitality, kindness and attention to detail. I am sincerely grateful for such a positive experience and highly recommend this hotel. It was worth every cent.

The room was comfortable and clean.

We ordered a packed breakfast for our early departure and specified that we needed fresh fruit and baled goods. When we came to eat the packed food there was no fruit, very stale an unappealing pastries and breads, and alot of completely unnecessary and unrecyclable packaging. This is completely unacceptable from such a property.
