Lovely staff, Food and drink was perfect. Room was comfortable and clean.

Where my room was the parking

The bath is very narrow no shelf to put toiletries on and no hooks to hang your gown and towels. Plus shower attached to tiles for short people who don’t want to wash their hair you can’t adjust it.No hooks to hang coats up. A mini fridge would of been nice to store water.The room was decorated well the bed was comfortable great bedding. Loved I was able to park my car outside the door. Lovely man on reception when I arrived and friendly breakfast staff.

Dinner was delicious. I hadn't planned dinner there but glad I did. Freshly cooked lasagne to perfection with 2 x chunks of garlic sourdough bread. Breakfast of avocado & poached eggs was also delicious. Room very clean and comfortable - huge bed! Everything you need for a relaxing time. Staff lovely & friendly.

You need a car to go anywhere as nothing immediately around the area. But, I liked everything to be honest for a quiet retreat.

The hotel was in a quiet part of Motherwell and the main hotel and bar was modern and friendly. Beds were comfortable and cleaning staff were lovely.

The room we stayed in was unfortunately not as clean as we would have expected. During the heatwave, the room became incredibly hot, and there was no complimentary drinking water provided as standard. The Velux windows were also very dirty when opened, and the bathroom door appeared to have warped slightly, meaning it was difficult to close properly. If it was not fully closed, it would repeatedly bang, which was particularly annoying. On arrival, we were specifically told by the receptionist that payment was required before we could be given our keys, so we were careful to settle any outstanding charges. At breakfast, we asked for some water and were provided with a glass bottle. We were explicitly told that this was complimentary because we were hotel guests. When checking out, I asked at reception whether there was anything else that needed to be paid before returning the keys, and I was told there was nothing further. However, after we had left, I received an additional invoice for the water. I called the hotel to query this, as we had been told it was complimentary, but was informed that the charge still needed to be paid. Although the amount itself was relatively small and I did pay it, I found the situation frustrating, particularly as I had specifically checked at reception before leaving. I was also disappointed by the manner in which my query was handled over the phone, as I felt the response was unnecessarily rude and unhelpful. Overall, these issues significantly detracted from our experience. While individually some of them may seem minor, the combination of the cleanliness issues, the excessive heat, the condition of the room, and the confusion and poor communication regarding the additional charge left us feeling disappointed with our stay.
