We had an amazing stay at bungalow at Green Hill! The cottage was brand new and tidy. There are 4 separate bedrooms (one without a/c but with the ceiling fan and windows open it was ok). Each bedroom has its own bathroom. Plenty of common spaces around the house. In the kitchen we had everything for cooking. Each breakfast included eggs, srilankan pancakes, rottis, fruits, tea and coffee - more than we needed to get enough. Goyambokka and Silent beaches are 5-7 minutes walk. Special thanks to the host Mahendra that made our Tangalle part of journey unforgettable! He also helped us with the transport and everyday issues. I would certainly recommend this location and the accommodation.

A nice way to experience tropical area. Like staying in a safari lodge but by best beaches

Green Hill cottage is surrounded by lush trees, with top floor views to the sea. You can walk to several gorgeous unspoilt beaches. Mahendra, the owner is very kind & goes out of his way to make your stay a good one.

Quite remote if you want to go out in the evening, especially in Tangalle area.

We stayed at cottage and it is perfect accomodation for people that like peace and nature, we saw a lots of peacocks, squirells some monkeys :-) they preppared for us delicious breakfast and dinner. Pool is big and clean. Close to 2 most beautiful beaches!

This lovely cottage was our home for one week. We enjoyed our time here, swam in the clean big pool every day. Food was very tasty and big portion for the price. Owner and his family were so welcoming. It was pleasure to meet you! ❤️

Perfect and authentic Sri Lankan coastal experience

Mahendra and his staff are incredible hosts. The property is beautiful and immersed in nature, with beautiful ocean views from our room. We extended our stay due to the fact that we felt so comfortable, and felt fully immersed in the local village and environment. We also had the opportunity to meet Mahendra's sister who gave us a cooking demonstration on making dhal curry and millet and sweet coconut in leaf (highly nutritious, and traditional Sri Lankan meal). Within a 5 minute walk to some of the most beautiful beaches I've seen. I also requested a lesson from Mahendra on some basic Sinhalese phrases, which he was more than happy to accommodate, and was a great teacher. If you would like to experience an authentic Sri Lankan experience in paradise, look no further, can't wait to come back with some more friends in the coming months.

Very cozy cottages, natural surrounding, most amazing rice and curry, and the best hosts! loved this place the most throughout our journey through Sri Lanka and would always go there again!

Absolutly exceptional.

If you've ever wanted to go to Sri Lanka, go now! Super nice and helpful people, no crowds even on the most tourist trails and attractions, kindness and smile at every step. I am writing this review after traveling around Sri Lanka for a month with my wife and 14yrs old daughter and visiting eight different places. Green Hill Cottage is the most wonderful place we've stayed in, we didn't want to leave. We felt it then and it turned out to be so in retrospect. We reorganized our plans for the next two weeks so that we could stay there at least one more day. The words that best describe Green Hill Cottage are "absolutely exceptional". It's all thanks to Mahendra and his family that owns this property. The charming cottage is located in a garden teeming with natural life. The cottage has everything you need and more. Everything is very neat and super clean. This is one of those places where time starts to slow down. The idyllic atmosphere was complemented by delicious food prepared especially for us, one could say made to order. Within walking distance are two of the most beautiful beaches we have visited in Sri Lanka - Silent Beach and Goyambokka Beach, and the town can be easily reached by scooter or tuktuk, it takes about 5 minutes. Absolute 10/10! Thank you Mahendra for the atmosphere, help with everything and conversations. Regards to Sarath. We hope to come back to you. <3

Great location set in bush a few minutes walk from silent beach. Loads of wildlife. The staff was great and the seaview from the top floor room fantastic. So much food was provided at breakfast, couldn't eat it all. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.👍

Very nice host 5 min walk from great Beach

Very nice host, amazing breakfast and the hotel is 5 min walk from one of the nicest beach we have seen in Sri Lanka! We had our own bungalow which was very quiet, I really recommand this place.

We did not have WiFi in our bungalow, but the common place was very nice next to the swimming pool so it was not a problem for us.

Superb place to stay

Very comfortable, simple, warm and friendly place walking distance to some of the most beautiful beaches in Sri Lanka. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and our host and staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Very close to Tangalle but in a quiet peaceful setting.

It is a quiet and peaceful place, with many animal residents (squirrels including giant ones, peacocks, many different birds), but still only minutes walk from beautiful beaches.

Fly's during the breakfasts, but while eating outside it probably cannot be avoided in hot climate.

The cottages are located in a quiet wooded area with many birds including a family of peacocks and giant squirrels. A very relaxing place, just 5-10 mins walk from two marvellous beaches, including the fabulous Silent beach.

This is your perfect option for Tangalle area, don't miss it.

We are close to end our Sri Lanka vacation and I'm glad to share with you that the greatest experience in terms of accommodation during our trip was our stay at Green Hill Cottage. I can't recommend it enough! The location is within walking distance from Goyambokka beach ( 10 mins) and also Silent beach ( maybe 12-15 min). You can easily take a tuk tuk to go in Tangalle or visit the other beaches around. We had a 2 bedrooms bungalow ( we were 4 adults and a child) that was sparkling clean, the staff changed our towels daily and cleaned the rooms. Wi-fi connection worked good. The breakfast was fantastic ( a lot of plates, we never managed to eat everything ) but even more than the breakfast we were amazed by the dinner. Best rice & curry we ever had! We liked it so much that we didn't wanted to try anything else during our stay in Tangalle area :) Mahendra and his family went over their heads to make our stay memorable - from putting us in contact with a very nice tuk tuk driver that we called every time we needed a drive to sharing with us the secret of their rice and curries in an open cooking session. He even arranged for my father to go fishing in the ocean with a local fisherman! Thank you Mahendra for making our Sri Lanka journey so memorable!

Best location,accommodation,service and food.Highly recommended

We would like to come again to this magnificent place.Big two rooms cottage in beautiful garden where you can only hear birds singing..beautiful silent beach and Goyambokka beach just 10 m walk.We had best food in Green cottage for very good price. Owner and his wife are just wonderful .Thank you so much for your top service :)
