Nestled in Lake Bomoseen, this attractive house for $184 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Lots of Vermont charm in this home! The bedrooms were originally horse stalls and kids just love that magic! Fully stocked kitchen, Franklin stove as well as central heat & a/c.. Large basement contains a ping-pong table + washer and dryer & small fridge. Outdoors, a very large area of mowed grass creates room for lawn games like badminton & even sledding in the winter! Crystal Beach is up the road and the lake marina is great for renting a boat or there is a site for launching your own. Indoors there is a game closet for rainy days. Very Family friendly home! NOTE:This home is NOT located on the Lake but is nearby :)

This is a charming converted horse barn
The rooms on main floor still have the original sliding horse stable doors which is a nice rustic touch
The kitchen is fully stocked with all utensils and appliances you need
The wood burning stove was a beautiful addition that my family enjoyed every nite
All the kindling,paper ,firestarter and wood are there for you,no need to get your own wood.
Woodshed is fully stocked with plenty of wood
Plenty of hot water for showers ,the heat worked perfectly
Wi-Fi was extremely fast. Streaming on our devices was flawless
Television in living room is a little on the small side but we weren’t there to watch television all day.
Beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of pillows and clean sheets if you needed
Plenty of towels and shampoos and body wash for showers
The property is beautiful with a fire pit if you chose to use
Overall it was a perfect location and my wife and 2 adult children enjoyed out stay tremendously
And yes the stairs going to the second floor are steep but not a problem unless you are elderly and are not good climbing steps.
There really isn’t anything I would change or complain about
Alison was great with communication and our instructions a few weeks before our stay
I want to thank you for a wonderful trip and excellent home to enjoy ourselves in.

Perfect spot for us. Able to be very close to wedding events but had a homey base to go to. Appreciated having a well organized kitchen so we didn't have to spend all our free time at restaurants. Go slow on road to property... especially at sundown .. I came way to close to hitting a deer. That was on day one, when I had not quite dialled down from my urban pace.. had lovely hike at state park close by and re-set.

We enjoyed our stay at Alison's place!
The space was unique and comfortable.
There was plenty of space for us. Our adult children were able to visit us while we were there. We all enjoyed a wonderful Easter with family who live nearby.
Really appreciated that dogs are welcome!
I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
The house was stocked with everything we needed and more.
Alison was wonderful with communication and extrememly accommodating with our reservation.

We stayed here for our friends’ wedding at the Lake Bomoseen Lodge and Taproom. It was perfect! Plenty of space, close to the venue and with all the Vermont charm you’d expect. We had a great experience!

This is a very unique and cozy home, a renovated former horse stable. The home has everything you need, good wifi too. Quiet relaxing location. Very nice for sitting by the fire. If you are keen on Lake Bomoseen and enjoying the surrounding mountains, this is a good choice. Close enough for a trip to Fort Ticonderoga by ferry too. Pond Hill Ranch for trail rides too.

We had the best long weekend at this awesome house. Loved the old stable interior! The property was beautiful and well maintained. The house was clean and orderly. The location made it quick and easy for access to the lake for the day. Would 100% stay again and definitely recommend!

Fantastic Location near Lake Bomoseen
I lived in the Castleton area about 35 years ago, and I finally managed to book a vacation back there (introducing my family to Vermont and New England). "The Barn" was a fantastic place to stay for a week; my family and I were very comfortable and greatly enjoyed it. Alison was very receptive and friendly, and the property met the description to the letter. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

We were pleased with ability to walk on a country road, and have a beach close by. The accommodations were perfect for the group we had. The stairs were a bit steep.

Winter Fun
We enjoyed our stay at the carriage house. The house had everything we needed. We cooked, used the woodstove, and used the washing machine and dryer. Everything was in working order and the house was clean and tidy. Allison was a good communicator. I love the rustic look of the house. We plan to come back!

The barn is just a short ride to Lake Bomoseen and Castleton Corners. We will return!

We had a very enjoyable stay at this property. The property itself was exactly as pictured and described in the listing's photos and details. It was located within an hour's to slightly more than an hour's drive of the the most distant destinations we'd planned to visit during our stay.
There was no need to contact Alison during our stay regarding an issue or request because all advertised features in the listing were available (and things like AC, cable, and wifi operated without incident). We did bring along a clothes iron because I didn't notice one when reading through the listing when I booked initially. (I look around for one once I arrived but couldn't find one. Its absence wasn't a big deal though, since most people today probably aren't looking for an iron anyway.)
Notably, the kitchen was surprisingly well stocked with some appliances that I'd not typically found in other vacation rentals. That was great.
Lastly, I appreciated the presence of what appeared to be many original architectural and structural features in the living area of the building, especially. The handcut beams that were part of the barn's frame, the wooden barnboard walls, and stable stall doors all lent a rustic and relaxing atmosphere to the overall experience. Sitting in different places in the living room always presented you with different things to look at.

Lots of games, playing cards, books and, of course, tv to keep occupied if it's a rainy day. The kitchen was well equipped. There was charcoal for the grill. If you go, Beverage King and Deli is definitely worth a visit. They make superb veggie wraps! There's a lot to do in the area: Bomoseen State Park, Taconic Ramble State Park (check out the Japanese Garden) and Crystal Beach (very clean and neat beach area) are just a few.

Green Mountain getaway
Everything about the listing was spot on. Tucked away on a small wooded lot, the house provided all our needs for relaxation after a long day fishing the lakes region. The hand hewn framing members and stall doors for the first floor rooms were awesome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A pleasant surprise
We have rented several properties during the winter and this was the absolute best. House has plenty of charm, being a converted barn. The kitchen is well stocked, bathroom is big, clean and functional. The beds were comfy, parking was ample and plowed. We were very pleased with everything and will rent this lovely house again!
