The communal areas were immaculate and definitely felt like a four-star hotel, and the outdoor areas are particularly stunning. There are wonderful views from the smaller of the two pools, and the thermal water felt incredibly relaxing and healing.
The location is excellent too, with a relatively short walk to both Porto and Ponte, so it is very easy to explore the surrounding area while still feeling apart from the busy-ness of the town.
The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The restaurant has lovely views, so breakfast feels calming from the outset. I had lunch at the little outdoor restaurant on site and the pizza was excellent.
The spa is also a good facility. I had an amazing massage during my stay, and there is an indoor thermal pool, sauna and Turkish bath available. One hour of spa access is included with the stay, although you do need to book a time in advance (and it is only open between 4-7pm).
Breakfast was good, with plenty of cakes and baked goods, as well as fruit, cold meats and cheeses. They also have pistachio cornettos, but these are very popular (we only got one when we were first down to breakfast). The barista-made coffees were also a nice touch.
Our room also had an amazing sea view, including Mount Vesuvius.
Overall, I would certainly recommend this hotel and will likely return for another visit in the future.
The bedroom and bathroom didn't quite live up to the standard of the hotel's beautiful communal areas. The room itself was perfectly adequate, but felt more dated and less stylish than the rest of the hotel. The bathroom in particular would benefit from some updating, as some of the sealant was cracked and had started to go black.
As a UK guest, I would also have really appreciated having a kettle in the room so that I could make a cup of tea in the morning.
The barista-made coffees at breakfast were a lovely idea, although ours were often not quite hot enough and, unfortunately, the coffee itself wasn't as good as I would have expected in Italy.
There was also some slightly confusing information around the spa treatments. I was given conflicting information about whether Spa treatments such as massages would be added to the hotel bill or needed to be paid for separately. This was not an issue, but could be made clearer to guests.
There is a tennis court on site, which is a nice additional facility, but I wasn't given any information about it during the stay.
Overall, though, these are relatively minor issues compared with how lovely the hotel is as a whole. The beautiful grounds, thermal water, views, peaceful atmosphere and excellent location make it a very relaxing place to stay.

The interiors were gorgeous. Everywhere you looked was instagrammable. Both pools were nice for different reasons. No shortage of lounges and the poolside service was wonderful. The mandatory swimming caps took a moment to get used to but everything about the space spoke to hygiene and wellness so it made sense. One definitely can't take themselves too seriously in a swimming cap so it helped break the ice.
I didn't like leaving. It was one of the reasons Ischia took highest ranking in Italian holiday highlights.

pools were nice, breakfast was good.
The staff seemed unprepared for hosting guests outside of a big group that was at the hotel at the same time. There was no place to get food or even purchase drinks (not even water) anywhere in the hotel and the staff didn't seem to know or have an option for us other than walking into town. Of note, there were two bars but neither were open at any point during our stay. I've never stayed anywhere, peak or off-peak, that didn't have a food or beverage option outside of a sit down, coursed meal that needed to be reserved and was in a crowded cafeteria type setting. Further, getting towels for the pool required a lengthy process a few floors down in the hotel spa which seemed totally inefficient to have to go pick up and drop off at the end of a stay. Finally, the hotel advertises thermal baths but does not say the age of which youths can use the facilities (we had mature teens that were interested but turned away) or account for the hotel guests because we had to insist on a 45-minute time slot for just 4 of us to use the sauna/steam room during a 2-day stay as that was all that wasn't "full".
I was very disappointed.
