Room 1. Has noisy ventilation or ac machine outside it. We were moved to another room no problem.

The breakfast on both mornings was very good, with a varied choice & perfectly poached eggs. Our server Patsy was excellent too. We were just disappointed that there wasn’t a tray of small pastries as is usual with a breakfast in other hotels we have stayed in, the only pastries available had to be purchased separately at the bar.

We had dinner in the hotel restaurant but the serving staff were very inexperienced The wine was just plonked it down in the middle of the table, he didn’t check with us that it was the correct wine, nor did he open the bottle or pour it. We ordered our 6 main meals but only 5 of them arrived, the 6th meal had been left off the order & by the time it arrived the rest of us had finished our meals. We also had to ask 3 times for some more water for the table. The food was very good apart from the gypsy tart which was very solid instead of creamy & was not pleasant to eat, so was left. We talked to the Manager about our issues with the meal & the service & he was apologetic & dealt with it professionally. But we feel that the staff need to be trained a lot more to a restaurant standard. Although our rooms were pleasant, the shower in room 23 was just a trickle each time it was used. There was a notice about low pressure, but it was impossible to have a decent shower for the whole weekend. The flush on the toilet in room 26 stopped working on our last morning, so we had to go down & use the main toilets in the hotel basement between waking up & checking out, which was not good.

Beautiful property - sea view room was lovely Breakfast room was a really nice atmosphere and setting Pasty - they served at breakfast with the fried egg brooch, was superb. Friendly, informative- excellent customer service

Location.

My room was quite small. The bed was tired and didn’t support me. There were cleanliness issues. In comparison to similar properties I have stayed in it was a little expensive. I had hoped for better.
