The hosts, Darren and Sally, were very welcoming and happy to assist in any way they could. The ensuite room was clean, fresh, and comfortable. The guest house is on a busy main road but I had a room in the back which was lovely and quiet. In the dining room, there is a fridge, microwave, and airfryer together with cutlery and crockery for guest use. It's about a 15-20 minute walk along the high street to the center of the city. I found that if you leave the guest house, turn left, and left up a short alley way, there is a nice quiet walk along the river to reach the city. If required, there is a bus that takes you to the top of Steep Hill.
I love that it's an old building, but the water pressure in the shower is low but adequate. It also took some time for the hot water to come through, but that happens in a lot of properties.

It was very cosy, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean and I felt like it was home for the weekend. Even better than a hotel. This had a personal touch that was welcoming and as a woman travelling on my own I felt safe. I really looked forward to returning there each evening and pleasantly found clean towels, and other considerate items that showed care and attention to the little things that make a stay home from home. I also felt reassured and welcomed at the start of my stay as I the owner Darren spoke to me over the phone and shared everything I needed to know about the property and room so that I could have the best experience.
First night I felt a bit chilly but let the Darren know and was offered a thick duvet, which worked wonderfullyđ. Would be great if there was an option to have a later check out timeâŚfingers crossed đ¤đžthis is a possibility for the owners to facilitate at some point.

Darren rang me the day before I was coming to confirm arrival times and explain parking. He was then very helpful on the day of my arrival getting my room ready early and talking me through the check in process for the hotel. Ended up getting an unexpected upgrade in my room too which was really lovely. If I come back to Lincoln I will definitely look to see if the guest house is available.

Great communication from the start, exceptionally clean and comfortable. Itâs clear that this premises is lovingly maintained. Something broke during my stay and was fixed straight away. As a lone women I felt very safe staying here and would highly recommended it to anyone travelling to the area
