Unique location
Bad communication, my questions on booking were never answered. The front deal there was very unfriendly. Of course language barriers but if they want international customers then please prepare better information about the important details.

“Historic building with both pros and cons: beautiful rooms, a lovely onsen, and a quiet atmosphere, though the ceilings are very low (be careful if you're height is above average!). Overall, the experience was amazing. Bathing in the old onsen was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Better communication from the staff would improve the experience, especially regarding explanations of the breakfast and dinner dishes, as well as the onsen rules. For example, the main onsen does not have showers, even though guests are expected to wash before entering. It was a bit inconvenient to shower in the other onsen and then return to the main one, and apparently many guests entered without showering first.

Serene location nestled in the mountains. Very relaxing and perfect place to be for rejuvenation
The two large onsens were incredible but the small one (chojukan) was full of mold
