Friendly staff. Private onsens are perfect for couples. Delicious meals with local produce accompanied by excellent wines, sake and spirits. Beautifully renovated in a gorgeous location. Large room. It was a very relaxing break from life in Tokyo.
It gets light early so bring an eye mask if you want to sleep in late.

High privacy hotel, six rooms only, although our room no Osen but they a private room Osen which we can use when it’s vacancy without reserves. The public Osen always only occupied by me not crowded of people. Dinner and breakfast also excellent we have a private room to having it.
We arrived the bus stop at 12:30pm which was earlier than the shuttle bus pick up time, but they specially arranged to pickup us , so we also have a earlier check in, thanks a lot.

The staff is extremely warm, attentive and caring. I am blown away by their hospitality. I felt taken care of very well during my stay. Very grateful to them. The details from the start to finish are impressive. The room is lovely and bed is so comfortable
It would be great to have a shower in the room

This place has an authentic Japanese onsen ryokan style and is very charming. Its however also very expensive, and you should not expect the same level of comfort as you would from a western style spa at the same price level. The onsen facilities were ok and it was particularly charming to sit in the private bath on our own terrace. The water was however extremely hot (probably around 45C) and we had to add cold water from the shower.
The rooms are sparsely equipped and do not have showers. Only for rooms with own onsen bath, there is a shower installed outside. The beds are mattresses on the floor and they are quite hard. There is no heating in the rooms so even in October it was quite cold inside. The food is very particular Japanese and not so friendly for kids. We had asked for a kids menu for breakfast both mornings, but they had forgotten this on the second morning. The place seemed somewhat understaffed, and on the second night, we were only served drinks once we were in our third course of the meal. We paid in total 2000 $ for the stay plus 650 $ for dinner for a family of 5 for two days. While the place was charming, it was definitely not worth the extremely high price compared to other nice hotels Japan.
