We discovered Savoia Resort completely by chance while changing the route of our long journey through Southern Europe. We were looking for a place in the mountains to escape the summer heat and originally booked just one night. We enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to extend it for another day — which probably says more than anything else.
A special mention must go to the owner Giordano. It is immediately clear that for him this hotel is much more than just a business. He is personally involved in everything, talks to his guests, welcomes them at breakfast and dinner, and creates a genuinely warm atmosphere. We had the pleasure of meeting and talking with him, and it was fascinating to hear about his experience and the history behind the hotel. You can really feel that Savoia Resort is in the hands of someone who truly cares about the place and about the people who stay there.
Our room was very clean and well maintained, and housekeeping was excellent. We had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel, served buffet-style, and were very impressed: fresh, high-quality ingredients, plenty of choice and genuinely delicious food. Compliments to the chef and the whole restaurant team.
The surroundings are beautiful, with mountains, walking paths and plenty of opportunities to explore the area. The ski lifts are nearby, so I can imagine this is a wonderful place in winter, but we discovered that it is also a lovely destination in summer — peaceful, fresh and perfect for walking and relaxing in the mountains.
We would happily recommend Savoia Resort and would certainly stay here again if we return to Bardonecchia.

Where do I start? The views are out of this world. The hotel itself is stunning. The staff are the best I have ever encountered and I travel a lot!! The best thing for me was Gustavo the resident dog. Any hotel that loves dogs is ok with me. This hotel is 10/10.
The only thing was the scary drive up through the mountain but the views at the top were worth it.
