The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel very clean and comfortable. The location is great for a walk into Shaftsbury. The swimming pool looked great but we didn’t use it
The rooms are a little tired but very clean .

Character
Inadequate Parking.
Chef phoned in sick but hotel had no backup plan.
Hotel did not advise that dining room was closed. Guests were simply turned away with no option other than going into town to find a restaurant.
I found someone’s dirty sock in my bed.

The breakfast was fantastic, there was a great selection, the cooked choices came really quickly and the food was very fresh . I also had a lovely pizza via room service. The food was really excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful.
There are no phones in the rooms so room service has to be ordered at the bar, which kind of defeats the object. The hotel itself looks a bit tired.

Great location & clean.
We booked through booking.com and stated we had a pet / dog but on arrival hotel had no knowledge and charged an additional £9.50.
Plus £5 each to use the swimming pool?
£180 for a basic room with no breakfast is too much.
The welcome from the receptionist was not particularly warm either.
