Fantastic location and service from the host.

However, would be unfair not to mention that the rooms are very dated with old decor and squeaky beds. That was a musty smell throughout, probably due to the rooms being carpeted and there was dust in the corners so could have done with her thorough clean.

convenience to centre of town and that key was in a box outside for arrival so good if arriving later in the day

First thing you notice is the damp and musty smell when you walk in. The carpets and walls going up the stairs are filthy, wallpaper is peeling from walls and woodwork is in a damaged state. We had room 4 the carpet was covered in marks so didn't touch it with bare feet during our stay we left socks on at all times which we have never had to do before. The bedside drawers were again unclean and one was full of hair. When i used the bathroom for the first time the lock came away in my hand and when we sat on the toilet the whole thing rocked from side to side it wasn't secured to the floor. Now i know we only paid £65 and i expected basic accommodation but there is no excuse for the state the room was in never mind the communal areas. Only saw a cleaner when we were leaving
