From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome. Sveva greeted us and already knew about my room upgrade request. She upgraded us to a fourth-floor deluxe room with a balcony facing Rena Bianca beach. Instead of just handing us the keys, Sveva walked us straight to the room.
Every aspect of my stay exceeded expectations. The rooms were clean and well maintained, the beds were comfortable and the linens of excellent quality. The view from our balcony was breathtaking. The location is amazing and withing walking distance of beautiful Rena Bianca beach as well as Santa Theresa Gallura town.
The hotel itself was immaculate. Every area was spotless and beautifully maintained. There was a nice pool with plenty of loungers, bar service available, and the breakfast had an abundance of choices, both Italian and American. Free parking was an added plus!
(Note this is part of what I liked) On a personal note, my husband became quite ill on our second night at the hotel requiring paramedics to take him to the hospital. Carine and Ellen called the paramedics and packed a bag of snacks and bottled water for him. This simple act of kindness had lifesaving effects as he was not seen by a doctor for 20 hours and received no food or drink for two days. When the paramedics had to transport my husband from our hotel room to the ambulance a number of hotel staff (sorry I did not get their names) helped transport the stretcher down three flights of stairs. We were only supposed to stay at this hotel for two nights, but they graciously extended my stay to four more nights. Every day, someone or everyone from reception would reach out to me asking if I needed anything and was I OK. When it was time for me to check out and move to a hospital closer to the hospital two things happened: (1) Sveva and Mariangela asked me to write up a list of questions for the hospital and doctors in English. They translated this to Italian. I was able to hand this letter to the security people at the hospital who in turn took me directly to my husband’s attending doctor. (2) We had rented a standard transmission car which I needed to drive twenty-six miles through winding roads to get to the hospital. Edoardo carried all my luggage to the car and then proceeded to give me a refresher course in driving a standard transmission car. He even had me practice a couple of times before he would let me leave. This was invaluable and I made it to the hospital safely. The staff followed up with me via WhatsApp for the following days.
The staff at this hotel earn the highest praise for their warm service, friendly smiles, and fast help. They went far beyond standard hospitality, providing critical, life-saving support for my husband during a terrifying medical emergency. A special thank you to Carine, Ellen, Sveva, Mariangela, Edoardo, and Giovanni.
