Hôtel Le Manoir des Douets Fleuris — Cancale ★★★★★ An exceptional place and one of the highlights of our trip through Normandy and Brittany. Le Manoir des Douets Fleuris is much more than a hotel. The historic house has been restored with extraordinary attention to detail, and the interiors feel almost like a private collection or a small museum. Beautiful antiques, art, historical objects and remarkable pieces of vintage French design — including Maison Jansen — are everywhere. You can spend a long time simply looking around and discovering new details. What impressed us particularly was that the decoration doesn’t feel staged or “designed for a hotel”. Everything seems to have been individually selected and has its own character and history. Damien knows the collection extremely well and was wonderful to talk to. You can immediately feel how much thought and passion have gone into creating the atmosphere of the Manoir. Our room was beautiful and comfortable, the grounds and swimming pool are lovely, and breakfast in such surroundings was a pleasure every morning. We also happened to experience a jazz evening during our stay, which made the place feel even more like a private country house than a hotel. We stayed several nights and were genuinely sorry to leave. If you appreciate historic houses, antiques, art and places with personality, this is somewhere very special.

We really enjoyed staying at the Manoir Des Douets Fleuris. It's tucked away from the main centre of Concale which was lovely as it felt secluded and quiet. Damien, who owns and runs the hotel, was so helpful and friendly and works extraordinarily hard to ensure that guests have everything they need for a relaxing stay. The swimming pool was an added bonus!

It was all good

I thought the breakfast was delicious, the tranquility of the place just lovely, the bed comfortable, the swimming pool though smallish wonderfully refreshing . I was so grateful for the welcome - we arrived late and had a bite to eat even though kitchen was closing

Lovely location. Good breakfast choice. Coffee machine in lounge - but no milk!! Pool and Jacuzzi and sun beds nice to have.

Bedroom bathroom and general rooms dark and cluttered. Not our taste. Evening menu snacks not meal and very slow. Perhaps more restoration to come.
