Good location (just a short walk into Volterra proper), a serviceable room, and very friendly and obliging staff. Usefully, the hotel had a large car park and EV charging was available onsite.
The breakfast was somewhat spartan (although that's not particularly unusual for Italy), and overall the hotel could do with a bit of modernisation. However, these are somewhat superficial complaints and did not detract from the overall enjoyment of our stay - we would absolutely stay there again.

Quiet location. Lovely garden to sit and read. The rooms were spotless. The pillows and linens fresh and comfortable.

Location is great for seeing Volterre and the region, in general
Aircon is substandard. I understand it's a heat wave, but the room was never even cool, only "room temperature."
Beds were foam which is too warm and also suffered from the memory of previous guests (slanted towards the outside of the bed).

Clean, simple room. Reception staff was very helpful when I was trying to find a laundromat and a taxi available despite it being a national holiday.
Was a bit away from the main town. Restaurant at “sister” facility wasn’t very good and the acoustics made it incredibly loud. I saw many diners requesting to be moved to an outside table to get away from then noise.
