We visited Misano for the Italian Superbike night racing weekend at the Misano World Circuit Simoncelli. Since the racing was one night race on the Saturday night and all day at the track on Sunday.
Before and after the Race days we visited several places of interest.
We also visited Valentino Rossi's home town of Tavullia. We are familiar with this area and follow Vally in all his race work, so new what to do and expect.
We also visited for the first time Marco Simoncelli,s motorcycle museum in Rimini, had a memorable time remembering this young racer who died before his time.
With a comfortable base at the Hotel Alexandra, right by the beech too! and plenty of Breakfast food and beautiful views out over the Adriatic. Watched a thunderstorm pass overhead and away off to the South - over breakfast on the second race day.
From our base we explored over Misano Adriatica area and went to a splendid highly renovated historic castle - Castello degli Agolantia. Another interesting day out.
For our last day we went to the fantastic Aquapark "Oltremare" with dolphin and birds of prey displays and a many extremely interesting exhibits and presentations about the origins of the earth since the big bang with further detailed pathway exhibits about the origins of man and early animals.
They have a magnificent Dolphin show, almost an hour long watching these beautiful creatures perform and interact with humans.
There are many more places to go out from this hotel by car, bus or taxis. Misano Adriatica has lots of street entertainment, music and colourful markets - very Italian.
We highly recommend this hotel, it is a perfect and cost effective base to explore the area from beach front, restaurants to castles, museums and beautiful views as you drive through the countryside.
There was nothing disappointing about the hotel, its staff and services were excellent save for one thing - we did not have a kettle and tea bags & coffee which would have been very nice. That said if you wanted tea and/or coffee you can go to the reception area 24/7 - but that means preparing to leave your room to get the drinks. We love our tea making facilities - totally lacking in our room.

Das Personal, egal ob Housekeeping, Rezeption oder Servicepersonal war äußerst freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück selbst war mehr wie ausreichend, ausgewogen und hatte sehr viel Auswahl. Man hat sich immer sehr wohl gefühlt.
Bei uns war der Duschkopf kaputt wurde aber nachdem wir es gemeldet haben, am nächsten Tag direkt ausgetauscht. Also auch hier top reagiert.
