The Evenhill

Room given was on first floor, so positioned in annex roof. The room was comfy and cozy, a real cottage feel. It had a lovely corner bath which filled up so fast with lots of really hot water, it came with a overshower rain fall shower head, so there was a choice. I loved that the rooms are totally separated from the main pub, it was so quiet. Although there were other guests I didnt hear them at all. The pub had so many food options. I had breakfast and dinner of site. Some items home made. Lovely steaks, home made coleslaw and crumble, eggs bennedict were superb. I was told Evenshills burger was exceptional but I was spoilt for choice. I was travelling with my 8month lab puppy, so the grassed area behind accomodation was perfect for him to stretch his legs and get comfy before bedtime and a poop bin well positioned. Really exceptional dog walks right on doorstep, at entrance turn right/right into a cul-de-sac leading to dead-end, had a footpath onto a lovely open field adjacent to woodland. Another walk, at entrance turn left, cross the road, head to first house, and pop through a gap in hedge to have acess to open fields where dogs get freedom and a chance to run. If you get a muddy dog, there's a hose just outside kitchen window... Next door to main entrance, just dont take wet hound into bedrooms, dry them off in car first!

Checking in was a bit back and forth as you check in at pub, in bar area, not at the accomodation. Maybe a ring door bell system would work better?

Nice room and decent pub food

No issues

Nice room, good furnishings, comfy bed. Great shower, anti- slip mat in bath. Good tea/coffee facilities, decent size mugs, fridge. Staff friendly and accommodating. Great breakfast options.

Breakfast was good

The meet and greet could have been warmer and more welcoming. The towels in the en-suite had an unpleasant smell, and the restaurant felt quite cold during my visit. The main menu was not particularly to my taste, although I did enjoy the breakfast. There was also a significant amount of mould around the first-floor bedroom windows, which would benefit from attention. The outdoor seating area / beer garden could do with a tidy up.
