We loved the hotel's atmosphere. It was genuinely a special space you can tell a lot of thought and care was put into, especially the dining room area. We loved our interactions with the staff, they were all very welcoming and friendly. The room itself was very clean, they have an elevator if you have heavy luggage, and the bed was nice. We would definitely come here again!
The breakfast was good, although it is mostly continental and light fare. It's a great spot to get a few bites in before you get a hearty breakfast in somewhere else unless you fill up on waffles, toast, hard boiled eggs and cold fish. To be fair, it is all you can eat though, and consists of typical breakfast items you will find all throughout the island. We also wished we could have tried the hot tub, but it closes a bit early, so if you intend on going make sure to check their hours and plan your trip accordingly.

The decor was really fun, lots to look at! Bed was comfortable and our room was large. Good job water pressure. Staff was very kind and helpful and made us sandwiches to take with us in the morning because we had to leave early to catch our flight. It was nice to be a ways out of Reykjavik which made it easier to get to the airport on time.
There was no notice about the construction in the parking lot (had to turn around in a small space into busy traffic and find another parking lot), several of the lightbulbs in our room were out so it was quite dim, shower was very small and not separate from the floor so the bathroom floor got soaked. The ambiance of the restaurant was really fun and matched the decor of the hotel. One of us enjoyed their meal, the other was disappointed.

Friendly staff, and breakfast was good!
The room was outdated with scuffs on walls, paint chipping in the bathroom, and everything looked well used. The sulfer smell was intense, and we understood it was expected, but it wasn't as strong at any other hotel/guesthouses we stayed at.
