I recommend this place!
There is a central heating which makes it warm almost all the time, even if the electricity is down for 6 hours (which happens in Kyiv during winter at least couple of days of week.
The stuff is friendly, kind and human, you can borrow things and there is nice calm atmosphere.
There is a restaurant, which is good however a bit overpriced because 4 minutes from it there is a store and better and cheaper restaurants with quality dishes
A cot, tea which is changed each day. You can also ask to change your towels only once a week or once in 4 days of you want: they are very open to everything.
They have not a bad warm shelter! As I understand the electricity works in the basement all the time, so it's not like cold and dark: there is light all the time.
During the blackouts the wifi works worse: you will have to use the phone one, from your simcard: I recommend Kyivstar esim.
Everything was pretty good. I've also ordered a wake up service and they have waken me up alright:)

The water was not warm during days when the electricity was down for 6 hours in a day. But I didn't get sick, it was still not that cold!

Well outside city center but very close to basic services and shops. Clean and comfortable with a "no frills" kind of vibe. Adjacent restaurant very friendly, tasty and affordably priced.

Hotel was in very good condition. Despite the harsh, snowy, and sludgy weather, the entrance was always clean and the stairs weren't slippery at all. Reception was open all the time and the staff working there were very polite; bathroom was cleaned everyday and the towels were also replaced with fresh ones. Shower took little to no time to warm up and shampoo was also provided in a dispenser. There are plenty of shops and supermarkets just a few minutes from the hotel which are open until quite late in the evening. There are also bus stops not too far from the hotel that take you to the nearby Nyvky metro station which then takes around ~15 minutes to get to the centre of the city; walking to the station takes around 25 minutes if you'd rather avoid buses. Bed was also very comfy and the TV worked perfectly fine; no better hotel in Kyiv for a solo traveller :)
Only possible negatives that I could think of would be the lack of an English menu for the restaurant next door - scanning the QR code takes you to a Facebook post with only a Ukrainian menu. Fortunately I knew a little bit of Russian so I could read a few of the menu items and somewhat communicate with the waiters, but without it, I wouldn't have had any idea how I'd have ordered.
