It was a great location when coming by car, as it was easy to park - unlike much of the rest of the town. It was a short walk to nearby restaurants and a little further to the main old town. The lady who manages the hotel was really friendly and gave us a nice room with a balcony, nicer that what we expected. She also runs a cafe downstairs and offered local food, although we decided to explore the town in the evening. In the morning, breakfast was simple but really delicious. Bright and airy place, good WiFi, fridge, aircon. Overall, great value for money.

Extremely accommodating host, great meals (traditional Cretan cuisine), good base from which to explore Agios Nikolaos and the mountains inland.
It was quite noisy at night as it’s by the road into the town.

The tiled frontage was attractive, with beautiful vines shading some of the outdoor seating area. The hosts were very welcoming, and enthusiastic help was offered with parking the car. The room was clean, with linen and towels provided. The air-con worked well. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. The absence of a TV was not a concern to us. Our host introduced our ground-floor room as quiet, being furthest from the road. Unfortunately traffic noise did intrude, and there were only single-glazed windows. Noise was not contained inside the accommodation due to fully-tiled corridors, so any conversation held in them carried and echoed. The plumbing left a lot to be desired: hot water in the morning was not always available, and the shower could not be used without completely flooding the bathroom floor. The shower cubicle was far too small. The breakfasts were good. We did not have other meals there because the village tavernas were good and had characterful settings.
