I did little research before booking this property. When I saw a four-star hotel on the grounds of a castle, I almost instantly clicked the book button, based on my previous experiences with other castles.
The check-in was smooth, the staff were smiling and helpful, and the breakfast was plentiful, varied, and suitable for almost anyone — and I am pretty picky about my food. They even have a friendly cat that loves being petted by everyone.
The entire park is huge, with various labyrinths, and it is very well taken care of. We even rented two bikes and rode them outside the property — this was the highlight of our stay.
We could have gone to the pool and booked a slot, but we arrived pretty late, and we are not huge fans of pools anyway. The entire estate is charming, and I have no regrets about visiting it. It is definitely a must-see if you are nearby.
Maybe my expectations were too high, but I was a bit disappointed when I entered the room, as it was quite small and did not feel like a four-star hotel. There were no slippers provided, so I recommend bringing your own.
Maybe it was also because I was there for my birthday and wanted something special — not a two- or three-star room on an otherwise fabulous estate.
The radiator had a thick layer of dust on it, there was hair on the carpet, and it definitely was not mine, as I am not blonde. The bathroom also felt outdated.
We only had shower gel and soap, so do not rely on having cotton buds, tissues, or any other extra toiletries provided.
I understand and appreciate the idea of preserving an old-style atmosphere. I have stayed in similar historic places before — old manors, castles, and other properties, some up to 300 years old — that had been renovated while still keeping a beautiful balance between old and new.
However, in this case, the room did not feel charming or historic. It felt neglected and too plain.

Beautiful place with nice rooms, friendly staff and great food.
You need to pay extra for amenities such as pool.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The apartment was clean. The breakfast was very good. Overall great value. It exceeded my expectations. Great location if you want to visit interesting places in the area or just take a walk in the castle park. There are also tours for children at the castle. Really a great place to visit.
