Really old property in the centre of St Jean Du Gard. Welcome and Reception was er....French, but this 2 star property is really old fashioned quaint and quirky. Its worth knowing that it also has a high end but separately run restaurant which you almost certainly need to reserve in advance. Inexpensive.

L'accueil, le patron est vraiment très sympa. Il est toujours disponible même quand il n'est pas là. Nous fûmes ravis de pouvoir laisser nos bagages avant de pouvoir prendre possession de la chambre et après l'avoir quittée, ce qui nous a permis de nous déplacer dans le bourg sans encombre. C'est un endroit un peu rustique qui fait penser autant à un gîte d'étape qu'à un hôtel, ce qui colle bien avec l'image de village de montagne.
L'eau chaude arrive plutôt vers la fin de la douche plutôt qu'au début.
L'hôtel se trouve au même emplacement qu'un restaurant gastronomique qui ne correspond pas trop à la clientèle de l'hôtel et nous avons du traverser la terrasse et les tables du restaurant, aux heures des repas, et à chaque fois que nous nous rendions dans notre chambre. Nous avions un peu l'impression de déranger et de faire tâche avec nos grosses chaussures et nos sacs à dos.

The room was sparse and clean
The hotel was in the center of the village on a noisy location. A local bar was loud until 2 AM. Breakfast was American style with packaged jam and honey in sharp contrast to the libel French breakfasts I had the rest of my trip
